DLS IV
New Software Makes Remote
Programming a Breeze
DSC’s DLS IV downloading software gives both central
stations and installers the ability to remotely program
and configure DSC control panels and communicators,
change user information, retrieve historical records, as
well as generate status reports and maintenance details
from a PC via Ethernet/Internet, the GPRS channel,
Modem or PC-Link. DLS IV offers complete convenience
and efficiency while remote – as an option to being on
the job site -- saving valuable time and reducing costs.
DLS IV’s Intuitive Software Detects
Prerequisites
During the installation process, DLS IV will detect any
missing components and will automatically install them.
If so desired, users may quicken the process, by manually
installing these components prior to DLS IV installation.
DLS IV Updater Does the Rest
The installation process begins with the DLS IV Updater.
The Updater manages the installation process for you
and provides future updates as DSC rolls out additional
driver packs and feature updates. For more details,
please refer to the DLS IV Quick Installation Guide.

New Account Group File Structure Enhances
DLS IV Speed
With DLS IV, all accounts are stored in Account Groups. These
groups are similar to the original DLS2002 software folders,
but everything is stored in an SQL database. As a result, many
operations are faster than in previous software packages.
For example, when a security panel calls in to the computer
running DLS IV, the software can very quickly locate the
proper Panel ID code and bring up the right account, because
everything is stored in an easily searchable database.
Queued Communications Allows for Multiple
Applications
DLS IV gives users the ability to queue multiple uploads
or downloads, with multiple panels using different
communication types. For example, a user can begin an
upload for a PowerSeries 1832 panel using a modem and at
the same time, go to another account and select a download
related to a T-Link Internet/Intranet Alarm Communicator
TL250. DLS IV will put the download into a queue, so when
the upload of the first panel is finished, the queue will look at
the next operation, identify it and activate the download.
