Foremost, the makers would like to express their gratitude to their Computer
Electronics adviser who’s been always guiding and not being tired of checking and
giving advices all throughout the project making, Mr. Marnell Escabas. Other than that,
they would also like to acknowledge their parent’s moral and financial support and for
understanding them throughout the process. Above all, their deepest gratitude to all those
people who have been encouraging them and to the man above who’s been guiding,
giving them presence of mind and never letting their courage go off the fence.
ABSTRACT

In entering the state of globalization, many things have changed. Nowadays,

people are living in an information age dependent upon technology. Different types of job
relies on getting information and technology enables them to access faster, process
efficiently and store information. Even in school, technology is very useful. The
advancement of the technology allows us to create and see the bigger picture. However,
even with this people, somewhat chooses to take the hard step. Just like in our school
security system, in the cashier’s office they only prefer with the manual security system.

So the makers came up with an idea to create a system that would enhance the
school’s security system. The project is entitled “ULTRASONIC SENSOR ALARM”. Its
main objective is to secure important files, money and other things keep in the office.
With the use of Arduino which is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-
use hardware and software, the Ultrasonic Sensor which are used around the world,
indoors and outdoors in the harshest conditions, for a variety of applications. The project
will be a great help to the cashier’s office.

Theoretical Background

In early 2008, the five co-founders of the Arduino project created a company,
Arduino LLC, to hold the trademarks associated with Arduino. The manufacture and sale
of the boards was to be done by external companies, and Arduino LLC would get a
royalty from them. The founding bylaws of Arduino LLC specified that each of the five
founders transfer ownership of the Arduino brand to the newly formed company.[citation
needed]

At the end of 2008, Gianluca Martino's company, Smart Projects, registered the Arduino
trademark in Italy and kept this a secret from the other cofounders for about two years.
This was revealed when the Arduino company tried to register the trademark in other
areas of the world (they originally registered only in the US), and discovered that it was
already registered in Italy. Negotiations with Gianluca and his firm to bring the trademark
under control of the original Arduino company failed. In 2014, Smart Projects began
refusing to pay royalties. They then appointed a new CEO, Federico Musto, who renamed
the company Arduino SRL and created the website arduino.org, copying the graphics and
layout of the original arduino.cc. This resulted in a rift in the Arduino development team.

Statement of Purpose

The project aims to create a system that will secure important files, money and

other things in the office.

It will also answer the following sub questions:

a) How efficient the system will be?

b) How to develop a project that will secure the things in the office?

c) Does the project offers better security?

Significance of the Study

The project was made to enhance the school's current security.

It will benefit the following:

School- The project will give benefits to the school’s security system.

Registrars/Cashiers- Lessen their task in securing important files, money etc.

Teachers- It will determine the student who really did her/his part of the said project.

Future Researchers- It will equip them with the knowledge about the alarm system. The
ultrasonic sensor alarm may serve as a reference for the future makers for the
improvement of the system in the near future. The project will serve as training for the
proponents, to enhance their skills in arduino development.
