Final Performance Task

Documentary Style Video Project
General Mechanics:

1. You are to create a Documentary Style Video Project that will focus on the significant life
experiences of common people.
2. It would be an open theme (love, friendship, success, mystery, ghost stories, etc. or any
combination thereof).
3. There should be a reenactment of some events, limited only to what the interviewees had
narrated.
4. The medium language to be used should be in English.
5. The documentary film should be 15-20 minutes including the introduction.
6. Chosen topic and theme should be submitted on or before October 18, 2019 to avoid duplication.
7. Submission of the final Documentary Film burnt in a CD together with the rubrics will be on or
before November 4, 2019.

Topic:
 The chosen topic should be carefully researched and documented.
 It should be Value-laden.
 It should appeal to the audience interests but not criticize any group (religious, ethnic,
etc.)

Interview:
 Interview significant people that will give rich information about the chosen topic and
theme.
 The video during your interview sessions should be included in the documentary.
 The interview could be done in any dialect or language convenient to the interviewee.
 Observe ethical considerations.

Technicalities:

 Video editing is allowed to enhance the effects and transitions of your documentary film
but not to use and change the events that were clearly narrated by the interviewees.
 The script and plot development (including the plans for video transitions, animations,
notes about proposed dialogues and etc.) should also be submitted.
 Voice-over and subtitles are allowed.

Group Participation:
 There should be a sufficient evidence of the members’ participation such as photo
documentation of discussions and brainstorming and list of responsibilities of members.
 Strict safety precautionary measures should be observed by the members if shooting and
interviews are done outside the school premises. Should there be any complaints from
concerned people, the video project will be considered null and void.
