Lesson Plan in Grade 8- ENGLISH (DLP)

I. Objectives:

To distinguish and construct the basic function of adjectives

To formulates some technique using adjectives.

To exposed their ability in identifying adjectives.

II. Subject Matter:


A. Function of Adjectives
B. Reference: Communication Skills Unit pp.110/www.educeng./adj/http.com.ph
C. Materials: manila paper, Reading material, Worksheet
III. Procedure:
A. Preparatory Activity
1. (Check the classroom management)
2. Check the light and fan are on.
3. Let the students pick up the pieces of paper in the floor.
4. Let them properly arranged the chairs by their groups.
PRAYER
Greetings (Welcome the students with a smile for a new topic discussion)
2 Review (Past topic about noun and pronoun)-expository approach
For this approach, I need to check if the students learned for the past lessons about noun and pronoun.
An extra oral recitation points will do.
If someone who is noisy inside the room will be given a particular punishment.
3. ENERGIZER:
Let the students stand and tell them to put their right hand and also to their left side saying hello with a
big smile.
Call one student to come in the front to lead the exercise.

IV. PROPER DISCUSSION:

Discuss about the function of adjectives


Explain what the function of adjectives is
Elaborate the function of adjectives in the sentence.
This method is deductive where the teacher tells or shows directly what I want to teach.

What is an adjective? (Get their responses)


Why is adjective’s is important? ( Get their attention and observe critical thinking)
Give me 5 examples of adjectives and use it in the sentence.

B. ACTIVITY PROPER

I used a brain based strategies to help the learners identify adjectives in the reading material that I give.

“LISTEN”

Listen to the song here in my heart


A melody I start but can’t complete
Listen to the sound from deep within
It’s only beginning to find release
Oh! The time has come for my dreams to be heard.

You should have listened there is someone here inside.


Someone I thought had died so long ago
Oh! I’m screaming out and my dreams I’ll be heard
They will not be pushed aside on words.

Into your own all cause you won’t listen


Listen I am alone at a crossroad.
I’m not at home in my own home and
I’ve tried to say what’s on my mind.

Oh! Now I’m done believing you


You don’t know what I feel
I’m more than what you made of me
I followed the voice you think you gave me.
But now I’ve got to tried find my own.

Instruction: Underline all the adjectives in the selection. Answer it wisely.

Set. B. Instruction: Give 4 adjectives that describe your family, friend and your teacher.

With the graphic organizers it helps to the learners to become active in the class and they will
participate to the class during discussion.
2.Observation Activity( Exploring activity
Divide the class into 3 groups
Instruct the 3 groups to let them go outside the classroom to plan how to perform the activity.
Give them a task to perform any activity such as jingles using adjectives.
Check their task if it is correct or not
“This activity the learners will develop their critical thinking ability.”
3. Hands on Activity (creative activity)
Instruction: Pick –up any things in the field.
First, get a one whole sheet of paper. It should be clean and presentable.
Second, prepare the things that they collect in the field.
Third, give them an instruction to describe the things that they collect. Give them an example.

Fifth guide the students so that they will be able to use adjectives properly.

5. Writing any composition( Organizing and Summarizing activity)
Concept: Life
Instruction: Divide the class into 3 groups
Compose an original unique rap, jingle or a song
Give them an ample time minute to discuss.
Present it in the class for 5-10 minutes.
“This activity helps the student to become alert and cooperative enough to their lessons moreover they
will develop their learning process to achieve any records.”
Reward: The group who performed the best, who will be the winner”
1st: 100 grades – surprise
2nd: 95 grades –surprise
3rd: 90 grades – surprise
Writing / Drawing Activity (for application/ Creative)
Instruction: Divide the class into 4 groups
Compose a paragraph with 200 words that describe a family.
Each group has their one long bond paper.

Reflection Activity (concluding activity)

Instructions: Get a piece of paper or any bond paper


Give them an idea on how to write a reflection based on their understanding about the topic.
Illustrate on the board and give some example.

V. EVALUATION:

Directions: Identify the adjectives and the word it modifies in the sentences.
UNDERLINE ONCE THE ADJECTIVE AND UNDERLINE TWICE THE WORD IT MODIFIES.
