INTRODUCTION

Textile industry has been playing a vital role in Indian economy. Textile sector alone
presently provides for nearly 28% of the total organized manufacture sector’s
employment in India. Indian textile industry enjoys inherent comparative advantages
it is almost self-reliant from the stage of production of row materials to the delivery
of finished products from cotton growing, ginning, spinning and weaving to
manufacturing of clothing items.

The garment industries are always trying to improve production and the quality of
the garments to sustain in the enormous competitive market. The sustainability and
profitability of garment industry is governed by the productivity of that industry.
Garment manufacturing involves number of operations carried out at different spots
by the operators. There are various practices and methods applied in industries to
improve productivity of the industries, time study is one of the effective tool used
by almost all garment industry for improving production rate.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Today’s Fashion, that has always been a multi-dimensional universal impact , is not
just a change, a trend but the spirit of the times, the succession and combination of
styles. It is not just a relation among classes is a multidimensional country
comprising 1.27 billion population spread over various regions having different
tradition and rituals though the basic culture remains the same. Due to this lot of
special costumes and apparel are being observed which has a long history. It is our
commitment to take these renowned Indian traditional costumes, having long
cultural continuity, globally. Every trend has its roots somewhere in history and
trends are really what fashion world go round. Innovations & Renovations is a big
wave that is currently in vogue.

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

The proposed study is undertaken in the city Bengaluru. This research is helps to
understand the using of manufacturing techniques in various manufacturing units. It
is a challenge faced by every garment industry to which manufacturing technique to
be adopted for manufacturing process of cloths.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

 To study the organization structure.

 To study manufacturing process.
 To study production design and material specification.
 To know the contribution of departments in reaching the goals.
 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

 The period covered for the study is only three months.

 It is difficult to determine the adoptable standard cost.
 The study is limited to their manufacturing process, design of the product
and their departments.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

A primary analytical research as undertaken to study about manufacturing

techniques used in garments for production with special reference to GARUDA
FASHION PVT.LTD. The mainly sources of data will be collected through primary

and secondary data.

SOURCES OF DATA COLLECTION

PRIMARY DATA

Primary data has collected through questionnaire and interviewer with the
production manager.

SECONDARY DATA

Secondary data has collected through the published materials such as reports

company’s website, journals and magazines.
