NEW STRUCTURES TEACHING
SYSTEM
Cussons’ new structures range (CST100 to CST121) is a modular system optimised for
teaching a broad array of structural engineering concepts to students studying civil,
aeronautical or mechanical engineering courses at certificate, diploma and degree level.
Secret of the CST system’s cost-effectiveness is its fundamental modularity and modern design ethos.
Broad coverage: beams, cantilevers, arches, struts, davits, weight, reaction, moment, shear force and torsion.

of the total load (in Newton) over the distance over which it spreads.
10.Record the load and measured deflection.
For example, nine loads of 100 g produces a total load of 9 x 0.981 N = 8.829 N
11.Increase the load in steps of 100 g, recording the deflection at each step.
When spread evenly over a distance of 0.5 m gives 8.829/0.5 = 17.658 N/m.
