Video conferencing
Videoconferencing (or video conference) means to conduct a conference between two or more participants at
different sites by using computer networks to transmit audio and video data. For example, a point-to-point (two-

person) video conferencing system works much like a video telephone. Each participant has a video camera,

microphone, and speakers mounted on his or her computer. As the two participants speak to one another, their

voices are carried over the network and delivered to the other's speakers, and whatever images appear in front of the

video camera appear in a window on the other participant's monitor.

Multipoint videoconferencing allows three or more participants to sit in a virtual conference room and communicate as

if they were sitting right next to each other. Until the mid 90s, the hardware costs made videoconferencing

prohibitively expensive for most organizations, but that situation is changing rapidly. Many analysts believe that

videoconferencing will be one of the fastest-growing segments of the computer industry in the latter half of the

decade.

E-reservation

An online booking system is a software you can use for reservation management. They allow
tour and activity operators to accept bookings online and better manage their phone and in
person bookings. But they also do so much more than that. Basically, they’re a huge step up
from a spreadsheet booking system.

This guide’s purpose is to help you understand booking systems a little better, how they can
help your business, how to choose the one that’s right for you and even how to get started.

Before adopting a new system you should always consider the advantages and disadvantages.

Benefits

You increase your bookings

One of the biggest advantages to online booking platforms is that they are always open for
business. You can accept bookings 24/7 so your customers don’t have to wait until the next day

to make a reservation or turn to one of your competitors. They have the convenience to book
when it’s right for them, and you collect bookings while you sleep.

You save time

Booking systems help you do more, with less. Once you have your business set up on the
platform, you won’t have to call your guests for reminders, send follow up emails, or manually
update your inventory on OTA’s ever again. This all runs in the background so you, and your
staff, can focus on serving your guests.

You’ll increase the efficiency of your operations

Customers today expect instant gratification and a booking system can help you provide it.
You’ll decrease lineups, have the ability to modify inventory with a few frustration clicks, and
never have to say “one moment” to a customer waiting for you to get off the phone again.

You get smarter insights into your business

A booking system keeps track of each reservation and the details tied to it. This means that you
can use reports to find what tours are making you the most money, get a better understanding
of who your typical customer is, and have real-time insights into your cash flow. You have all the
tools and information you need to grow your business.

Disadvantages

It will take time to get setup

While it is relatively easy to get a booking system up and running, you’ll still need at least 24
hours for setup. You might be eager to get things live ASAP but take the time to learn how to
setup online reservations properly. Each business is different which means there are a ton of
configuration options.

You will need to train staff

Once you have the backend setup you will have to train all your employees on the new system.
This can take as little as an hour but it’s still downtime you need to account for. And since you’ll
be significantly reducing the amount of administrative work you might have to adjust staff
responsibilities.

Is An Online Booking System Worth It?

When evaluating software you should always consider the initial investment, both time and
money, and the potential benefit to your company. With a booking system, there is a learning
curve. But the best booking software company should provide you with all the support you need
to get started. And with everything you gain, we think it’s a no-brainer. Maybe just wait until your
low season to start implementation.

E-Learning

A learning system based on formalised teaching but with the help of electronic resources
is known as E-learning. While teaching can be based in or out of the classrooms, the use
of computers and the Internet forms the major component of E-learning. E-learning can
also be termed as a network enabled transfer of skills and knowledge, and the delivery of
education is made to a large number of recipients at the same or different times. Earlier,
it was not accepted wholeheartedly as it was assumed that this system lacked the human
element required in learning.

However, with the rapid progress in technology and the advancement in learning systems,
it is now embraced by the masses. The introduction of computers was the basis of this
revolution and with the passage of time, as we get hooked to smartphones, tablets, etc,
these devices now have an importance place in the classrooms for learning. Books are
gradually getting replaced by electronic educational materials like optical discs or pen
drives. Knowledge can also be shared via the Internet, which is accessible 24/7,
anywhere, anytime.

Description: E-learning has proved to be the best means in the corporate sector,
especially when training programs are conducted by MNCs for professionals across the
globe and employees are able to acquire important skills while sitting in a board room, or
by having seminars, which are conducted for employees of the same or the different
organizations under one roof. The schools which use E-learning technologies are a step
ahead of those which still have the traditional approach towards learning.

No doubt, it is equally important to take forward the concept of non-electronic teaching

with the help of books and lectures, but the importance and effectiveness of technology-
based learning cannot be taken lightly or ignored completely. It is believed that the human
brain can easily remember and relate to what is seen and heard via moving pictures or
videos. It has also been found that visuals, apart from holding the attention of the student,
are also retained by the brain for longer periods. Various sectors, including agriculture,
medicine, education, services, business, and government setups are adapting to the
concept of E-learning which helps in the progress of a nation.
