B eing a Christian when we look at the world today, we see there are
......more than 6 Billion people on the earth !
6,000,000,000 (OR) 600 CRORES !!

Of these we are told that 1/3 or about 2 billion or

200 crores .......are called..... “Christians”.

Further in these or among this GROUP called Christians

there are....... about 750 denominations or subdivisions.

There is great DIFFERENCE and VARIETY in their beliefs and doctrines

and hardly any UNITY in their beliefs - except the name of JESUS !

THE BIBLE IS VERY SELECTIVELY USED BY ALL.

In many places the OLD TESTAMENT of the Bible is not really

READ or considered IMPORTANT leading to even Bibles being printed
....containing ONLY THE NEW TESTAMENT !!

It is like going out half dressed !!

F So in all this kind of situation one who is sincere will ask the question...

FWHO THEN IS A CHRISTIAN ?

Who will answer this question ?

The best one to answer is.... JESUS Himself !

F Yes ! ASK HIM ! And see His answer in —

Matthew 16:24-25
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross and follow me.”

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ?

These are DEFINITE terms and conditions to be a
DISCIPLE of the Master.
And then again we read of the Lord’s words in -

Matthew 10:37-39
“He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me...”

F What does this mean ?

........These are again the TERMS of discipleship !

Now these DISCIPLES or FOLLOWERS of the Master

in the early church then got a name, which we read of in—

Acts 11:26
“...and the disci ples were called Christians FIRST in Antioch.”

Yes! They were so much like CHRIST that they gained

the name CHRISTIANS— like .....people from India are
called INDIANS and..... from Malaysia— MALAYSIANS !!

F They were REALLY Christians— their lives and words and actions showed it!

HOW MANY REAL CHRISTIANS ARE IN THE WORLD TODAY ?
Now Jesus also told us how a TRUE Christian is to “worship” God as we read in —
John 4:24
“...And they that worshi p Him must worshi p Him in spirit and in TRUTH.”

F WHAT DOES THIS MEAN ? WHAT IS THE TRUTH ?

We read that answer very clearly recorded in -

John 17:17
“...thy word is TRUTH.”
So simple and yet so powerful ! Yes! These are God’s words !
—the BIBLE is the Truth !
......But how many STUDY the Bible today ?
.........Is the Bible THE BASIS of all our beliefs today ?
Are we SERIOUS about gaining KNOWLEDGE of
the Bible as we do about life’s mundane and daily matters ?

F But someone will say—”I have TRIED many times to read

but I DO NOT understand the Bible.”

F Another will say— “I have many DOUBTS and QUESTIONS and

NO ONE is able to answer me satisfactorily.”

F
SO WHAT CAN I DO ?

Well, ask the AUTHOR of the Bible !

Let us read of the author of the Bible in -

2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1,2

F “All scri pture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”

F “God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets.
hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things,
by whom also he made the worlds.”

Yes ! ASK GOD Himself ! For He Himself is..... the AUTHOR !

F But you may think— “Can I ask ? Is it possible ?”

In answer, let us see the scriptural promise in
Jesus words as read in-

Matthew 7:7,8
“ASK and it shall be given you,
SEEK, and ye shall find,
KNOCK, and it shall be opened .”

Yes! These are great spiritual PROMISES to those who seek—

“For EVERYONE that asketh receiveth...”

Thus, is the GUARANTEE of the Lord to all of us!!

F Now, you may next ask, HOW does God teach us ?

We read the answer to that matter in-

John 6:45

“It is written in the prophets, And they shall BE ALL TAUGHT OF GOD......”

Yes! God Himself, will teach you through His servants whom
He will send to you in answer to your prayers...

Thus, the MEETING with such servants and the beginning of Bible studies is purely
by the HAND of the LORD and NOT of the servant or of oneself !

Finally an important ADVICE to All Christians as we read from —

2 Timothy 2:15
“STUDY to shew thyself approved unto God,
a WORKMAN that needeth not to be ashamed, RIGHTLY DIVIDING the word of truth.”

YES ! THERE IS MUCH... AND MUCH TO STUDY IN THE BIBLE !

F Here are some questions of interest—

GENESIS 1ST CHAPTER a

How LONG was each day that God took to do His creative work ?
WAS IT..... 24 HOURS?
Let us read from -

Genesis 1:5
“ And God called the light day, and the darkness he called night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day”.

F What is meant by this ......“evening and morning” ?

From evening to morning is...... ONLY TWELVE HOURS !!
What is this answer to this question ?
Then we read from -

Genesis 5:24
“ And E’noch walked with God and he was not; for God took him”
What HAPPENED to Enoch ? Did he not die as all do ?
Then we read from -
2 Kings 2:11

“ And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire,
and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven”.
Did Elijah...... GO TO HEAVEN ? Then we read in -

Matthew 9:35 / 6:10 / 10:7

F “ And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching
the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people”.

F “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”.

F “ And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand”.

What is this..... KINGDOM ? Then we read in -

Luke 17:37
“ And they answered and said unto him, where, Lord? And he said unto them,
Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together”.
WHAT is Jesus saying here ? Then we read in -
2 Corinthians 12:2-4
“ I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago,(whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body,
I cannot tell ; God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man,
(Whether in the body, or out of body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise,
and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter”.
WHAT is this “third heaven” that Paul here speaks about ? Then we read in -
Revelation 13:18
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast:
for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six”.
WHAT IS MEANT BY 666 ? Who is it ?

The ANSWERS to all these questions are in the BIBLE itself !!

And yes ! The blessed promise to all who seek is.....

John 8:32

“You WILL KNOW THE TRUTH and the truth shall make you free..”
