Introduction

Evergrow AT3 platform use Atlas -III technology.
This document descripts how to use ActiveSync to transfer files and folders to GPS device. Please read it carefully before you connect it with
your personal computer. You should follow the step make it successful.

Install USB driver

Install Microsoft ActiveSync software

Transmit files and documents

Environment

Hardware

PIII computer installed the Microsoft Windows Operating, which has USB socket.
GPS device
USB cable.

Software

Windows 98/ME/2000/2003/XP (Windows Vista can’t install this program)

Note:
Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6 will serve to the users of Windows Vista Since the software will be compressed by windows
installer; the procedure can be applied to operating system with MSI supporting. If it doesn’t work. Please download MSI database. File
name of windows98/ME: InstMsiA.exe: if operation belongs to windows2000/XP/XP SP1, Please install the following software: Microsoft
Windows Installer V3.1 (KB893803 supplement) which has been contained by Windows XP sp2.

Install USB Drivers

You must install USB drivers before you copy files using ActiveSync. SiRF Technology, Inc. Provide to driver files for AT3 chipset:

atlasusb.inf and ATLASUSB.sys, you can get it from our website or related CDROM. You must preparing those two files to a folder, example,
I put those files to the folder C:\USB Driver. The below steps will help you to install this driver:

Steps:
1. Turn OFF the Device, and disconnect the USB cable with the PC.
2. Press the button ON/OFF and at the same time turn ON the device.
3. Connect the USB cable with your PC and the logo screen is coming after about 1 second.
4. Your PC will show a new hardware detected dialog as follow.

5. Operating systems will automatically showing the follow window. Select the second item, <install from a list …..>, please do not
select the auto search the drivers. Click the Next to continue.

6. Do not select the “Search Removable media (floppy, CD-ROM…)”, and Select the “Include this location in the search”

Click the “Brows” button to select the USB driver path. I put driver files to the folder C:\USB Driver, so I select the driver folder is C:\USB
Driver.

Press the “Next” button after you selected a install path. System will copy the driver file.

7. System will show a dialog if your system is Windows XP , Windows 2000 version will do not show this information. Press the
“Continue Anyway” to continue.

8. Follow window will appear and then click the “finish” button to finish the USB driver installation.

9. If you connect the USB with the PC , you can see the device management as following:

Notice
You need to reboot/reset the device and try again when your personal computer showed “A Unknown device”.

After you installed the ActiveSync4.2 or later, you maybe can see the item Microsoft USB Sync in your device manager list:

ActiveSync is provide by Microsoft, you can download it from Microsoft ActiveSync website :
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/default.mspx
you could download version 3.8 or later, the 4.2 or 4.5 is recommended.

Following steps help you to install Microsoft ActiveSync software, and installing version 3.8 is example:

Steps:

1. Double click the Microsoft ActiveSync 3.8 application and the setup is starting.

2. Click the Next button to continue.

3. You can change your install file path. And then click the Next to copying the files.

4. Following screen will appear after install finished. Click Cancel to close this window.

5. Please run the application the Microsoft ActiveSync if it’s not running.

6. The right-bottom appeared a gray icon when you do not connect to the device. Now, the Microsoft ActiveSync installed successfully.

Transfer file by Microsoft ActiveSync

After you installed the USB driver and Microsoft ActiveSync software, you can transfer a file following steps:

Steps:

1. Make sure the gray icon is appeared.

2. Disconnect the USB cable with PC and reboot your device and reset the GPS device and wait the main screen is appeared.
3. Connect your USB cable with you PC after the main screen is appeared. You can see the gray ICON is flashing as following:

4. The follow window will appear. Select the NO and click Next to continue.

5. You can see the Connected in the following window. Maybe you can hear a sound indicate they connected successfully. Your PC and device
connected successfully.

6. Press the Explorer button to see the Storage Card info.

7. You can see the files and folders on the SD card, its name is SDMMC

8. You can copy the files/folders from your personal computer.

9. And then paste the file under the SDMMC folder like following:

There will have some minutes for copying files.
