3. RISK ASSESSMENT

The safety devices used on products supplied by MOVILIFT srl are intended solely for the accompanied material.

Risk assessment due to the influence of the mutual components that ensure the equipment length needs to be
performed by the installer, in order to ensure full compliance.

For every workplace you must identify the specific list of dangerous situations related to health and safety, and perform a
risk assessment for any maintenance operation, including access to workplaces, etc.

Regarding the point mentioned above, it should be performed the following:

• The presence of a person or persons involved in the maintenance in a workspace;

• The foreseeable actions of persons other than those involved in the maintenance that may at any time interfere with

her activities (ex: people who open and close the power circuits, or connected, or lighting circuits, or trying to use the
system during maintenance etc.).

4. LIFT MOVEMENT

The machine is supplied disassembled in its components in packages made of a wooden base and systems to immobilize
the packages placed inside the packaging (strap, heat-shrinkable nylon, etc.). Remove the heat-shrinking protective nylon
and eventually the strap; machine parts are inside the plastic / cardboard protections. After unpacking the machine,
check the integrity of the contents. Contact the company in case the material is not in compliance with the order and do
not proceed unless otherwise indicated.

The packaging elements must not be left within reach of children as they are potential sources of danger. The elements of
the packaging must also be stored and laid to waste according to the current national’s law where lift is delivered.

The definitive characteristics of the packaging, the number of packages and the weight are communicated to the
customer with material ready for collection. Lifting platforms, if not immediately installed, must be kept inside their
packaging in a dry environment, sheltered from atmospheric agents and at a temperature between 0 ° C and 40 ° C. The
packaging must be placed away from sources of heat, flames or explosives and must be kept in the correct position,
avoiding overlapping packing on top of each other. The unloading of the truck and the handling of the intact packaging
must be carried out by means of Transpallets, forklift or other suitable equipment and in compliance with the regulations
in force. If unloading equipment is not available, the disassembled machine parts must be unloaded by hand, unpacking
the machine and unloading the parts directly from the truck. It is the responsibility of the installer to perform the risk
assessment from manual handling of loads in accordance with the laws in force.

5.PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS

5.1 INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS

The documentation to be used for the installation of a complete lift is as follows:

• Design of the lift project
• Frame assembly instructions
• Safety components installation instructions
• Cabin assembly instructions
• Operator's manual and ports
• Manual switchboard and accessories and appropriate wiring diagrams

All documentation, for a correct and safe installation of the lift, must be kept by the person responsible for the
installation.
Please note that this documentation is considered an integral part of the system and must be complete, well preserved,
and complete in its entirety.
Moreover, in order to safeguard its legibility, it must not be damaged, present missing parts and the sheets must not be
torn or damaged during the consultation

5.2 INSTALLATION PREPARATION

Normal site equipment is used for the installation of the system. The assembly of the components, assembly, disassembly
and possible reassembly in another location of the platform must follow the steps provided in the instructions given in
this manual.
It is also reiterated that every operation on the structure or components must be performed by authorized personnel
who are fully familiar with all the criteria relating to the rules of good technical standard and who sign the final document
of conformity according to the technical specifications provided.
Based on the instructions provided below, the installer must provide for the installation of the system. In addition, the
regulations and laws in force in the country of installation must always be observed.

5.3 DIMENSIONAL CHECKS

Before starting the installation proceed with the following checks:

 Check the presence of an efficient lighting system in the compartment;
 Check the cleanliness of the compartment and pit;
 Check that the pit has been appropriately treated against water infiltration;

INSTALLATION MANUAL

 Check that the electrical system of the network is provided with an adequate grounding (otherwise stop the installation
until the Customer has made the adjustment);
 Check that the entrances to the compartment are properly closed;
 Check the possibility of entry of components into the compartment including suitable lifting means;
 Check that the accesses to the machine room are correctly illuminated, in particular, for the machine room in the
cabinet, in the work area bounded by the open doors;
 Prepare a material deposit area close to the compartment, easily accessible by the fitters and not exposed to bad
weather;
 Check that all the cable ducts and the holes for the electric cables are free, ready to be inspected and well finished;
 Check that there is a hole for the smoke outlet.

It will therefore be necessary to compare the dimensional data of the following aspects with the data indicated on
the project carried out before the delivery of the platform.
 Plan dimensions of the compartment;
 Pit height;
 System travel;
 Head height;
 Position of the doors;
 Sealing of the compartment.

5.4 MATERIALS DISCHARGE AND STORAGE

During the unloading phases it is necessary to verify that the received materials correspond to the ordered ones and that
they are all present, using the bill attached to the supplied material. Check the status of all components and materials
upon receipt at the construction site, to check for any damage during transport; immediately notify MOVILIFT s.r.l. in case
of missing or damaged parts.
Store electrical and electronic components in a cool, dry place in their original packaging. If for any reason it is not
possible to install the system immediately, periodically check the stored components to prevent damage caused by
prolonged storage under unfavourable conditions. Check the completeness of the system documentation.

6 LIFT MOUNTING

When installing the system, all the provisions of the law relating to health and safety at work and temporary and mobile
construction sites must be applied (to the total care and load of the client and installer), in compliance with the laws in
force in the individual States. Any scaffolding used in the assembly must comply with current regulations regarding the
design, construction and use.
During assembly operations, the personnel in charge must be adequately trained and informed and, if necessary, must be
equipped (using them) with adequate personal protective equipment against the following risks:
• impact, crushing, cutting of feet and hands when handling and assembling components;
• electrocution from direct and indirect contact;
• fall.
If the arch is used as a mobile element for the assembly of other components and in the case of movement of the arch
without cab, the personnel in charge must pay particular attention to the operations in order to avoid in particular way
shearing or falling hazards, by implementing all the necessary precautions, in particular, it is advisable to use maintenance
buttons to man present and have the presence of two operators, as well as ensuring an adequate support plane on the
arch.

The car roof is not load-bearing, so it must never be used as a support base for people and / or objects during the
assembly or in any other situation. If hooks fixed to the load-bearing structure are used, they must be suitable for the
load; the same applies to the hooks anchoring to the bearing structure in reinforced concrete or masonry.

The test manoeuvres should be done with all the safety devices installed and operating. If you have to carry out
manoeuvres with the safety devices not inserted, it is necessary to take precautions that guarantee a sufficient degree of
safety to prevent accidents, so it is recommended, for example, to use maintenance buttons with an operator or a
presence of two operators and so on.

For fixing the guide brackets to the reinforced concrete or masonry, the devices and their type are charged to the
customer. Use pressure devices (for example screws) able to withstand the stresses caused by the operation of the
system (static and dynamic loads)

The following is an indication of the recommended tightening torques for bolts with metric thread and strength class 8.8.
However, it is necessary to make sure that the bolts are properly tightened. All mounting screws are supplied pre-
assembled on the individual parts.

Check if the last upper section of the guides has the working of the joint between the "male"
or "female" type guides. This determines the departure of the guide column: if the segment is
"male", the first piece of the guide part starts with "male" joint, vice versa for the "female".
Use the two wings to fix the guides on the base beam.
Before introducing the guides into the space, it is advisable to divide the columns into two
groups and arrange them with the relative joints in the correct position along the scaffolding
work surfaces. Normally two shorter guide lengths are provided, which are used to complete
the two columns. Care must be taken to ensure that each piece is mounted in the upper end
of the single column.
