HIGH qUALITy mINERALS
HyDROUS KAOLIN
Kaolin is a naturally occurring hydrated aluminum silicate crystalline mineral. It is characterized by its
lamellar or platy particle shape, fine particle size and chemical inertness. The combination of platy shape
and fine particles size results in improved spacing of TiO2 particles in a paint film and improved
opacity.

CALCINED KAOLIN
Calcined Kaolin is an anhydrous aluminum silicate produced by heating ultrafine natural kaolin to high
temperatures in a kiln. The calcination process increases whiteness and hardness and alters the size and
shape of the kaolin particles.

DELAmINATED KAOLIN
Delaminated kaolin clay is specialized engineering process where the kaolin blocks are separated into
individual kaolin platelets, which will make the clay hyper-platy with high aspect ratio. The delaminated
kaolin clay is designed to improve barrier properties such as stain resistance, while still improving
opacity.
