DAILY LESSON PLAN

Grade & Section: 7 – DAPITON/BENEDICTO Date: October 17, 2019

Schedule: Daily (10-11am & 11-12am) (Thursday) Subject/ Learning Area: SCIENCE 7

Learning Competency: Predict the effect of changes in abiotic factors on the ecosystem (S7LT-IIj-12)
I – Objectives: At the end of the lesson, 80% of the learners are expected to:

 Determine the components/factors of energy transfer in the ecosystem;

 Differentiate the different energy transfer in the ecosystem;
 Perform a certain situation that shows energy transfer in the ecosystem; and
 Appreciate the importance of the role of every organism in the energy transfer in the ecosystem.

II - Subject Matter: Energy Transfer in the Ecosystem (Food Chain, Food Web & Trophic Levels)

III – Learning Resources

 Reference Asuncion, A.j.,et. al, (2017) First Edition. Science Grade 7 Learners Material. Pp. 155-159. FEP
Materials: Printing Corporation. and Internet

 Instructional LM, Laptop, projector and strips of paper, manila paper, scotch tape & pictures
Materials:

 Teaching Inquiry-Based Learning & Cooperative Learning

Strategies:

IV – Procedure:  Setting of standards.

 Review
Priming Activity  Motivation:
 The teacher will let the learners identify the given pictures and related questions will be
raised for the learners to be motivated of today’s lesson.

Activity:

 Group the class into three (3) and let each group to choose a leader to facilitate the group and
a reporter to present the output.
Lesson Proper
 Each group will be provided the materials to carry out the activity in five (5) minutes.

Analysis:

 Let each group to present their respective output and corresponding points will be given.
 Related questions will be raised by the teachers to the learners to deepen their understanding
of the lesson.
 How energy is being transfer in the ecosystem?
 What is food chain? Food web? The trophic level?
 Why do organisms need energy?
 More questions will be raised.

Abstraction:

 The teacher will then generalize the topic by raising questions to the learners.
 Describe the energy transfer in the ecosystem.
 Name the group of organisms involve in energy transfer.
 Cite more examples of energy transfer in the ecosystem.
Application:

 Provided with the materials, let each group to perform the given task about energy transfer in
the ecosystem.

Valuing: Ask the learners:

 How important the role of every organism in the energy transfer in the ecosystem?

V – Evaluation:  A 5– item quiz will be done to measure the learners’ learning of today’s lesson.

VI – Assignment /  Please bring the materials needed for the tomorrows activity. Refer to the book pp.160-161
Agreement
