The general types of conflict I may encounter in human resources role in future:

Bad communication: Dissimilar communication styles can cause misinterpretation in

the middle of employees or between employees and managers Lack of communication

is an underground conflict.

Value Differences: In every work environment consists of individuals who can see world

differently There is absence of acceptance and understanding of these differences and

the conflicts arise.

Conflicts of interest: Generally, conflicts arise when individual workers “fight” for

personal goals and ignore the purpose and welfare of the organization.

Scarce resources: Employees often feel they need to compete for the resources

available to work in an environment where resources are scarce this will cause

containment whenever you know how many resources can be scarce.

Personality conflicts: In each work environment consists of different personalities

Conflicts arise unless your coworker recognize and accept each other’s approaches to

work and solving problem.

Poor performance: when more or one people inside a work unit do not perform without

reaching the potential and this is not addressable the conflict is inevitable.

Personally, I feel like Lack of proper communication in the work can cause conflicts in

relationships between colleagues, supervisors, subordinates and customers the tensions

that arise in these work relationships can ultimately reduce workplace morale and worsen

the organization's results.

In this semester from Chapter 5 - The Three Channels of Communication they are

nonverbal, verbal and para verbal in communication our interpretations may or may not
be accurate. Unfortunately, correctly interpreting communication is sometimes difficult.

empathizing builds rapport, forms the foundation for understanding within relationships,

and is the most powerful tool available for resolving conflict.

From this chapter I learned the key tool for interpreting communication is listening “hear”

all that someone is saying or trying to say, the listener must attend to all three channels:

the verbal, nonverbal, and para-verbal channel. i also learned tools like paraphrase and

empathic response.

Sometimes communication problems do not refer to misunderstandings they refer to

different personalities in this case human resources should intervene This is particularly

important if the interpersonal conflict between employees is altering the work environment

and compromising productivity Some examples of this include:

 Cleaning, noise level

 Gossip, excluding practices

 Respect for staff

 Cover work burden during vacations.

Conflicts are inevitable in almost any workplace whether it is a misunderstanding about

who did what a conflict of ideas or a personal relationship. However, the root cause for

conflict is poor communication.

From this chapter I learned few techniques to overcome the poor communications

Address issues quickly and frankly, set clear expectations, Recognize and value personal

differences and develop listening skills.
