Temporary Onshore Accommodation
A true multi parameter challenge!
541: Selecting Camp Type and Site
542: Design, Layout, Facilities and Services

Does not cover:

- Operation of camps
- Engineering of structures, decommissioning methods
- Specifics of work areas such as warehouses or workshops.

Key principles:
- No comfort at the expense of HSE!
- Recognize transport as the most significant risk!
-Temporary = < 5 years use expected
- Duration: few days to 5 years
- Longer duration: higher quality and more comfort
- Also recognize need for advance parties to build the camp,
with more primitive conditions
As such not prescriptive, rather imposing risk assessment and
common sense, with a lot of flexibility: “fit for purpose”
