“Since, in the long run, every planetary civilization will be
endangered by impacts from space, every surviving civilization is
obliged to become spacefaring--not because of exploratory or
romantic zeal, but for the most practical reason imaginable:
staying alive... If our long-term survival is at stake, we have a
basic responsibility to our species to venture to other worlds.”
― Carl Sagan
Space colonization is permanent human habitation off the
planet Earth. The two most common factors to consider while

1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

setting a colonization are survival of human civilization and
the biosphere in the event of a planetary-scale disaster (natural
or man-made), and the availability of additional resources in
space that could enable expansion of human society.
The structure is made by utilizing resources efficiently. This
section details how different levels of artificial gravity are
provided in different parts of settlement.
The section of human factors gives the details of designs the
community, a task which includes the zoning of residential,
commercial and public facility including the transportation
system. The section details how the inside of the community looks
like from the inside.
The number and design of tools and spacesuits to be used in
.everyday use as well as in special areas (such as the zero-g
or the low-g sectors of the settlement) are also detailed in the
Humans Factors section.
AREXIAL will feature a variety of robots and machines
serving purposes ranging from structural construction to
household work, and have been designed to maximize
efficiency.
AREXIAL include a well-planned consumable distribution
system, medical facilities, and efficient housing and
entertainment complexes.
In brief, following are the main features of AREXIAL settlement:
 First and foremost important feature of AREXIAL is that all
sections i.e. residential section, agriculture section , industrial
section and main control panel are separated from each
other means there is different rotating torus for each which

1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

minimizes the risk factor and helps in maintaining security
and management too.
 Another important feature is “ZIPLINE” which has been used
as a transportation means from docking port to central shaft
which does not require any energy.
 AREXIAL has followed policy of recycle and reuse especially
in water management.
 PEPPER- a companion robot has been assigned to each
resident of AREXIAL considering psychological factor and to
improve their living comfort.
 Next main feature of AREXIAL is that in Agriculture torus,
level of C02 and O2 is different than that of residential torus
which will help in fast growth of plants.
 Solar panels provided on residential torus can be folded or
may be brought in use according to the requirement of
energy.
 Last but not least is network security of settlement which is
being provided by introducing an extra feature “ FIREWALL”
which is the main shield between internet cloud and main
server.
2.1 EXTERNAL CONFIGURATION
The AREXIAL is the eight wonder of the world because of its
utilization of advanced technology. The 6000 citizens will be
made to endure that they are genuinely in future. The day ‘n’
night cycle procedure make
people wonder that they are on
earth. But on the other hand
their encounters with all
Incipient robots and gizmos will

make them feel like just WOW!

COMPONENTS OF AREXIAL

The unique design of the settlement is enough to verbalize about

its status. The AREXIAL has two residential as well as industrial
tori to obviate overcrowding. The employed population can go to
the industrial or the agricultural torus via the central shaft. Taking
care of accommodation, the docks and storages along with
transportation shafts are provided outside the residential
volumes.
Additionally, the crew is given a separate workstation to zero-in
on the working of the settlement. Each residential volume consist
of four observatory rooms to provide a natural views of the
Luna and the Earth. Withal, the artificial gravities are
maintained in such a way that they facilitate the work to be
done in that section.

2.3 CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
AREXIAL is constructed from beginning to final in eleven
intermediate steps. The required rotation required to engender
artificial gravity is maintained by utilizing small hydrogen
thrusters which will provide a startup for rotating the tori. And
since there is no friction in space the tori will keep on rotating
nonstop. And to facilitate the rotation ball bearings are inserted
between the central shaft and the connecting cylinder of the
torus.

2.0 STRUCTRAL DESIGN

CONSTRUCTION PHASES
PHASE 1 :
The central shaft is constructed with the main thruster at one end
and eight position thrusters on the shaft. The thrusters are
provided to keep AREXIAL at Liberation Point 1 (L1 point).

PHASE 2 :
The Agricultural torus is constructed which provides a workstation
to the construction robots and human workers. The construction
material is also stored in the torus.

PHASE 3 :
A residential torus is constructed along with the command ring.
The installation of the systems will start. The residential torus will
also provide an extra workstation.
PHASE 4 :

2.0 STRUCTRAL DESIGN

Another residential torus is constructed symmetrical to the
previous one. The isolated houses meant to be used in case of
emergency are constructed in a torus similar to the command
ring.

PHASE 5 :
The two industrial tori are constructed which marks the completion
of main structure. The construction of the internal configuration of
the tori starts from this tori.
PHASE 6 :
The connecting X-shafts are constructed aligned horizontally with
the position thrusters. These shafts will serve for transporting
materials.

2.0 STRUCTRAL DESIGN

PHASE 7 :
The docking ports and warehouses are constructed at the ends of
the connecting X-shafts.

PHASE 8 :
There are two ports and two storages on each side of the central
shaft. The transportation shafts across the ports and storages are
constructed. They are directed in such a way that each tori is
connected to a storage on the other side of the central shaft. Also
the inclined tubes ensure a safe passage for the cargo will be zip
lined from the ports to the warehouse.
2.0 STRUCTRAL DESIGN
PHASE 9 :
The space elevator port is constructed on one of the
transportation shaft facing the moon.

PHASE 10 :
The solar blades are constructed at the back of central shaft.
PHASE 11 :
The residential tori are wrapped with a network of solar panels
to power the settlement. And to beautify the outer structure the
remaining tori are covered with a layer of red color material.

2.0 STRUCTRAL DESIGN

After complete analysis, testing and improvements the settlement
will be inhabited by the people.
2.4 SPACE ELEVATOR
AREXIAL offers exploration on moon via the space elevator. It
will be connected to the moon by a tether ribbon which is
56,239 km long. The tether ribbon provides a strong passage to
the space elevator for up-down. To make it further stronger a
foundation structure will be built on the surface of the moon in
which the ribbon will be fixed. 20 m

3.2 INFRASTRUCTURE
• ATMOSPHERE
AREXIAL’s air composition in each torus meets the requirements of
each section like comfort of humans in the residential torus,
enhancing plant growth in the agricultural torus, and easing the work
done in the industrial torus.
*INDUSTRIAL TORUS : 71.45%
The air pressure and composition in the
Industrial tori will be the same as that on
Earth. A pressure of 0.7 atmosphere with
29.67% oxygen lets Machines work 27.77%
efficiently and workers feel comfortable. 0.78%
Relative humidity will be maintained at
20%. oxygen carbon dioxide nitrogen
*RESIDENTIAL TORUS :
In the residential torus, a pressure of
0.7atm and Oxygen composition of 69.86%
31.34% lets inhabitants breathe the 0.5%
Same way they do on Earth. As the
pressure decreases, oxygen composition
0.3%
has to be more so that the amount of 29.34%
oxygen entering the lungs is the same. The
oxygen argon
temperature will be changed according
to season and time of the day. Relative nitrogen carbon dioxide
humidity will be 40%.
*AGRICULTURAL TORUS : 52%
Air pressure is maintained at 0.7 atm for
better plant growth. The air composition is
29% carbon dioxide, 19% oxygen and
52% nitrogen. Temperatures range
between 25C-28C. Relative humidity will 19% 29%
be kept at 60%. All these conditions
favor ideal plant growth. oxygen carbon dioxide nitrogen

• TEMPERATURE CONTROL
For keeping AREXIAL at a suitable temperature, heat pipes and

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

radiators will be used. Heat pipes will use a closed two phase
liquid-flow cycle with an evaporator and condenser to transport
large amounts of heat without using electrical power. From heat
pipes, heat is transferred to radiators which then reject it to
space. Radioisotope heaters (RHUs) will be used to protect
components under cold-case environmental conditions, and to
warm up components to their minimum operating temperatures
before the components are turned on. Heat sinks will be used to
absorb excess heat and maintain suitable temperatures in the tori.
Temperatures will vary according to season to give an Earth-like
living condition.
• AIR FILTRATION
In the residential tori the air will be passed through lithium
hydroxide filters to absorb CO2. The lithium carbonate formed is
taken to the agricultural torus where it is heated to get carbon
dioxide which is used by plants. The air from the agricultural
torus, which has more oxygen because of plants, is sent to the
residential torus through lithium hydroxide filters so it is free from
carbon dioxide. This circulation of air between the agricultural
and residential tori makes a balance between the oxygen and
carbon dioxide levels. Air filters in the residential tori purify the
air from any impurities and kill harmful bacteria.
• FOOD ACQUISITION
Production of food : Food there will be produced via vertical
farming. The method used for production will be Aeroponics.
Benefits:
• Easy to set-up.
• Transplantation of plants,
• when needed, is easier.
• All species can be grown.
• No contamination

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

• Water efficient
• Maximum nutrient are
absorbed in this type of system.
Milk: Milk is produced using strains of yeast. Sugar is first turned
into milk proteins called caseins with the help of strains of yeast and
then these caseins are used to produce edible milk. This milk has all
the nutrients that
are found in a cow’s
milk with no contamina-
tion of lactose in it.
Eggs: Powdered eggs
(vegan substitutes).
Will only be used in
recipes not for omelets.
Meat: Cultured or Vitro
meat will be produced.

Imported food : Food like meat and chicken will be imported from
Earth, later for self-reliance meat analogues will be produced
through cellular agriculture and the meat grown by that process is
known as vitro meat or cultured meat.
Seeds that will be needed in the initial phase of agriculture will also
be imported. Eggs for making omelets will be imported from Earth
as well. Initially water will also be imported from Earth in water
bags and later water will be recycled and used.
• POWER GENERATION
Most of the electricity requirements will be met by solar panels.
Total area of solar panels including the solar blades is 128,000
m2. Total energy produced is 60 MW/H. Solar blades in
AREXIAL are foldable so that whenever we have enough
electricity, solar blades will be folded and they will not harness
any more sunlight.
ENERGY STORAGE : Energy will be stored in silicon thermal
energy storing batteries. Silicon in abundant on moon surface so

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

transporting silicon from moon will be easier than transporting
from Earth. These batteries have a lifespan of 20+ years with
very high energy density.
DEPARTMENTS REQUIREMENTS PER DAY
RESIDENTIAL TORUS 113 MW
INDUSTRIAL TORUS 522 MW
AGRICULTURE TORUS 10 MW
COMMAND RING 404 MW
AUTOMATIONS 337 MW

• WATER MANAGEMENT
Major water requirements of the settlement will be achieved by
recycling the used water. Our water recycling system recovers up
to 99%. The water recycled here is 99.99% clean and safe to
drink.
Sewage will be pumped to a waste treatment plant beneath the
business center of each section. Water will be separated from
solid waste through vapor distillation, the waste will be heated
until most of the water has evaporated out. The vapors will then
be condensed back to a liquid and subjected to a series of
micro filters and UV radiation to further purify it and kill any
pathogens. The remaining sewage will continue on to the solid
waste treatment center.
Each section of the residential torus will store and recycle its own
water supply, if any section detects contamination in its water
supply, it can pump water in from the two adjacent sections until
water quality can be restored.

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

Water filtration system will filter water condensate as well as
liquid and solid wastes in three stages. First, screen filters will
filter out most solid debris, while chemical coagulation and
flocculation will eliminate any remaining suspended particles in
the water. Second, nano filtration will remove chemicals as well
as capture up to 99.99% of biological contaminants. Third,
reverse osmosis filters with activated carbon will effectively
remove any remaining chemical and biological contaminants.
Water will additionally be purified with UV and ozone
treatment, while iodine and fluoride will be added for public
health purposes. 30 L of water will be allotted per capita per
day, and a total of 74,574,610 L of water will be circulated
throughout AREXIAL per year to serve human, agricultural,
industrial and other needs.
DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS PER YEAR
RESIDENTIAL 72,270,000 ltr.
INDUSTRIAL 56,210 ltr.
AGRICULTURE 2,248,400 ltr.
TOTAL 74,574,610 ltr.
• WASTE COLLECTION SYSTEM
The transportation of waste is done through vacuum tubes
conveying system which are functioned to suck (via powerful
vacuum suckers) the waste through the households of the residents
on the settlement. Users of the pneumatic waste collection system
deposit their refuse into waste inlets, located around the chosen
operating area. Waste collection points are placed outdoors or
indoors and are accessible 24 hours a day. There is one waste
inlet for each type of waste (which will typically be divided into
biodegradable and non-biodegradable).The waste gets collected

in the waste station. The entire network can be monitored and
controlled by the waste station operators.
SOURCE OF WASTE TYPE OF WASTE TREATMENT

Human biological Faecal waste Solid waste used to make polymers (plastics)

. In the similar way, the industries will be provided with wider

and longer tubes as the production of waste at the industrial
level is huge and continuous.
The waste containers remain closed. The container is opened and
made in contact with air once when a full container is replaced by
an empty one. Due to the continuous flow of solid waste through
the vacuum pipelines, chances of blockage of pipelines do
prevail. To prevent such situation, automated cleaning robots are
assigned to clear the blockage by pulling the waste from the
blockage and create a clear path.

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

• COMMUNICATION
METHODS :
• Light Fidelity (li-fi) - OLED panels installed in the settlement
which will also function as public li-fi internet. Light Fidelity is
fast as it uses visible light communication (instead of radio
waves). Home owners also have the option to get li-fi installed
in their houses. As li-fi only works through light, Wi-Fi is a
better option for homes.
• Laser Communication - For communication between AREXIAL
and the Earth, laser is used. Laser communication is one of the
fastest and most reliable forms of communication. As lasers
travel near the speed of light, communication is very fast. Due
to the concentration of light in lasers, loss of information is also
minimal.
• Fiber Optics - For internal communication, fiber optic cables
will be used as they offer very high speeds of data.

AREXIAL Phone - Permanent residents will get a phone specially

designed for use inside AREXIAL. It will include support for use
with the public li-fi network.

FOR LASER COMMUNICATION :

• An optical module (OM), which sends and receives modulated

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

laser beams via a 4-inch (10- centimeter) telescope
• A controller electronics (CE) module hat ties the first two
together. 2. For Fiber Optics
• A network of optical cables that consist of a glass core (Thin
glass center of the fiber where the light travels), a cladding of
pure glass, and a buffer coating of plastic. Single mode fibers
will be used in residential connections and multi-mode fibers
will be used in connections between different tori.
• Transmitter which produces and encodes the light signals. It
receives and directs the optical device to turn the light "on"
and "off" in the correct sequence, thereby generating a light
signal.
• Optical regenerator that consists of optical fibers with a
special coating (doping). The doped portion is pumped with a
laser. When the degraded signal comes into the doped
coating, the energy from the laser allows the doped molecules
to become lasers themselves. The doped molecules then emit a
new, stronger light signal with the same characteristics as the
incoming weak light signal. Basically, the regenerator is a laser
amplifier for the incoming signal.
• Optical Receiver that takes the incoming digital light signals
decodes them and sends the electrical signal to the other user’s
device. The receiver uses a photodiode to detect the light.

3.3 CONSTRUCTION ROBOTS
ROBOTS USE
These robots are used for external assembling of AREXIAL in the
construction phase. These robots angles the parts and wields them
EXO ROBOTS together. Their main use is to construct the main structure.

Main function of this robot is to construct the interior of AREXIAL. We just

need to put in the design of the structure we need and this robot will
3D PRINT SETS make that out with the materials we input in it. Main function is to
construct the interior of the structure.

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

These robots have the duty to construct the buildings of AREXIAL. These
CONTOUR are specially designed robots which are capable of making a building
CRAFTING in just few hours.

These robots are designed for assembling of interior of AREXIAL. They

are similar to exo-robots, the only difference is that exo are meant for
DELTA ROBOTS exterior whereas delta are meant for interior.

3.4 POSITION THRUSTERS

Ionic thrusters will be used as position thrusters during construction
and operations of space elevator. These thrusters will be situated
at both the ends of central shaft with 4 thrusters on each end.
These thrusters create thrust by accelerating ions with electricity.
They produce 25-250 milli-newtons of thrust with an exhaust
velocity of 20-50 km/s with efficiency of 65-80%. Fuel for
thrusters will be stored at the end of the central shaft which will
also have an opening at the center with a rod which will be used
by the people to go to the habitable area when any malfunction
happens inside the residential torus. Fuel will be transported
directly to the thrusters engines through pipelines whenever in
need of refueling.
3.5 DOCKING FACILITIES
PASSENGERS PORTS : Docking areas will have 0 G. Passenger
ships coming from Earth will land in docking areas (4 docking
ports) and loading and unloading of passengers will be done
there. The ships will land in zero gravity area and after landing,
robots will scan the ships for their refueling and repair facilities (if
needed). Meanwhile passengers will get down from the ship and
will proceed towards X-shaft from where they will proceed
towards central shaft through zip line i.e. they will wear a belt

3.0 OPERATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE

with a hook connecting to a rope attached to the roof of the X-
shaft and will slide along it in 0 G. Pilot of the ship will rest till its
next flight to take off. Till now robots would have completed their
scanning to find default in the ship and would have started to
work on them. Later, when the ship gets ready for its next flight,
passengers and pilot will start boarding the ship.
CARGO PORTS : Cargo ports are also similar to the passenger
ports and unloading also happens in the same way. Cargo docks
also have 0 G. When the ships lands, the cargos are unloaded
with the help of robots and are sent to the storages in the same
way the passengers are transported in X-shaft. After the cargos
are unloaded from the ship robots start their work. The ships are
repaired and refueled for their next flight. The cargos that are to
be sent back to Earth are loaded in the ship. After all the
loading, repair and refueling is done the ships are sent back to
Earth.

ZERO GRAVITY ACTIVITIES

1. ZERO GRAVITY
Living in zero gravity will be a new world for everyone. Simply
floating around lets you play all sorts of games like picking up
anything without bumping heads, making acrobatic movements,
somersaults, spins, and playing diff. kinds of sports with making
collisions in zero gravity places.
2. WATER, WATER EVERYEHERE

4.0 HUMAN FACTORS

Playing with water is fun... Squeeze a
few blobs out of a bottle and they
form little spheres, which you can line
up and move around in mid-air in
front of you just by blowing them. Or
you can add colours to them, or blow air into one with a straw
and make it swell up like a balloon. Or set one spinning so it
forms a "rope" of water.
Actually you'll probably find yourself playing with water - or
other liquids - inadvertently, when you spill your drink in a bar
or with a meal! Luckily it's easier to wipe up than on Earth where
it quickly hits the floor - you can just catch it in mid-air with a
tissue or handkerchief. Playing with water on a larger scale will
be fun too - like a "water room" in which (wearing bathing suits!)
people can throw large blobs of water at each other...

other architectural infrastructure and
other essential commodities as well,
using materials such as ABS plastic,
PLA, polyamide (nylon), glass filled
polyamide, stereo lithography
materials (epoxy resins), silver,
titanium, steel, wax, photopolymers
and polycarbonate, carbon nanotubes. Pre-set designs will be programmed into
the system and dictated how many of each design is desired. The arms will then
craft the designs using the supplies gained from earth.

CONTOUR CRAFTING MACHINE

The contour crafting machine is placed over a specific railroad which allows it to
rover over different places. The machine is capable of moving in 3 axes. The X
axis is made up of rails, the Y axis is
created by the height of the machine
and the Z axis is provided as the
horizontal bar which joins the 2 arms.
After installation comes the process of
injection of mould, the appropriate
construction material is pumped into the
nozzle orifice. The arms are equipped
with a controlling trowel which is placed
over a multi axes and will be able to move horizontally and vertically and will
also provide slope, angle and delicacy of geometrical shapes. In order to make

complex and precise parts of the infrastructure, the machine will be equipped
with a selective laser sintering machine, fixed in a different multi axes arm, which
will remove complexity and provide neat geometry of the infrastructure and
create various shapes according to external patterns, with least amount of time
and energy consumption. The machine is also capable of building buttresses and
straight standard walls and the nozzle can create dented parts so as to provide
proper space for installation of pipes. Another robotic grappling arm attached
to the horizontal bar, adjacent to the mould injector, has the responsibility of
placing window and frames and ceiling plates. Besides the construction of a
habitable infrastructure, the machine is also capable of strengthen the walls
placing electrical installations and also painting houses.

OVERHEAD CRANE

The overhead crane move in a longitudinal

direction along the erected and elevated track
placed on the sides of the wall. The crane is
provided with 2 robotic arms which are 3 meters
long (each). The robotic arms have multiple axes
so that the arm covers a solid angle of 1/2
steradian and cover every possible area within its limits. To maintain the efficacy,
several types of replaceable lifters are present which can be placed on the arm
of the crane to perform suitable applications.

•Grappling lifters use big multiple claw grapplers to lift or turn the load.

•Mechanical lifters are composed of two or more rigid parts that move in
tandem when manually actuated to secure the load.
•Vacuum lifters utilize an electric-powered extraction pump and sealed pads to
create a vacuum to attach the lifter to an object.

•Pallet lifters use forks to lift pallets from underneath.

•Lifting beams are suspended from a hoist/crane to provide multiple load lifting
points for better security and control of the load’s movement. A spreader beam
uses two or more hooks to spread the load over more than one lifting point.

•Magnets lift carry or release flat or round ferrous objects with or without an
electrical power supply.

5.0 AUTOMATION AND ROBOTS

•Slings or strap hoists made of nylon, polyester, wire rope or chain lift materials
that are too large and bulky to be transported any other way, such as steel coils
or sheets.

•Drum turners turn over drums for filling and emptying.

DELTA ROBOTS

The delta robot is organized to load and unload

standard cargo shipments. The delta robot is
equipped with six kinematical free moving axis,
on which a serial kinematic on the end. With their
rotational degrees of freedom is placed. The
robot's base is mounted over a small work place
and all the actuators are located on it. From the
base, three middle jointed arm, made of light
composite material, extend. With the presence of
flexure-hinges joints, the robot is capable of
gaining high speeds and simultaneously performs
work with absolute accuracy. Machine vision is
employed in conjunction with the delta robot
tracking to accurately track a randomly located product while moving at a high
speed. The machine vision camera will continually snap wide angled pictures of
the surroundings and locate product at some point upstream of the delta robots.
When a product is identified by the camera, its location is combined with the
current location of the delta robot and the delta robot moves itself towards the
place directional. While the payload of delta robots is considerably less than
that of serial robots their use of intelligence is strong. The moving parts of the
delta robot have a small inertia. This allows for very high speed and high
accelerations. Remote force sensing is now used to accomplish difficult assembly
applications quickly using six axis delta robots. Vision cameras can be mounted
directly to a delta robot’s tooling or fixed-mounted in the robot’s work envelope.
The mini version of these robots can be used as the replaceable grippers who
can be attached to some extra robotic movable and extendable arms. The delta
robots have a crucial part to play in the industrial sector as they are ideal for a
wide variety of assembly applications like battery production, medical devices
and pharmaceuticals, electronics, solar panels and other products. These robots
also play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the flawed and defective
systems.

micro controller such as an Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
The code on the source then interacts
with a larger more complex network
known as a neural network which has
been programmed in a separate
application. This software then makes
intelligent decisions using the
environment and its sensors. ZyKlon will
attempt to save more energy without
getting in the way of the resident's usual living style. Every home has lights,
appliances and other electronic or electrical gadgets. ZyKlon is smart enough
to switch off lights and unused appliances when the house is vacant. It logs
data periodically and that data can be used to help reduce more electricity
where possible .ZyKlon is capable of reading notifications, cellular
messages, social network news feeds and etc. It is even capable of replying
to the messages if the user asks the software to. The user can insert its
schedule every previous night for the next day and ZyKlon will notify the
person according to the schedule. With the A.I provisioned to ZyKlon, it can
switch off the devices like T.Vs, Cooking and cleaning appliances (which
work on electricity), Gas stoves and much more, the user simply login to the
web app and switch them off manually or let ZyKlon do it automatically.
Whether it’s by voice, gesture recognition, web app, computer app or
mobile app, ZyKlon has you covered ZyKlon. ZyKlon is based on Artificial
Intelligence and is linked up to the search engine for providing any
information asked by the user or is capable of answering complex

PEPPER

Pepper is a humanoid robot companion.

It can provide assistance in making
choices, detect human facial expressions
and communicate with people. Pepper
can adapt its behavior depending on its
perception of a person’s mood. Pepper
is capable of identifying the principal
emotions: joy, sadness, anger or
surprise. People suffering depression
and loneliness can interact with the
companion robot so as to regain their
well-being. It is also capable of
interpreting any type of gesture
whether facial or body actions. The combination of all this information enables
the robot to determine whether his human interlocutor is in a good or a bad
mood. Pepper is designed to make his interaction with human beings as natural
and intuitive as possible.

COOKING BOT

The dual-arm humanoid cooking robot is able to cook dishes like a master chef in
home kitchens. The kinematic analysis is carried out for the arm of the robot. The
working space of the arm is calculated. The robot arms will retract when not in
use. Users can operate the kitchen with a smartphone or via the included touch
screen. Simply pull up a recipe on either platform and have the Moley Robot do
the rest of the work. Users can choose from a selection of included recipes, which
the robot knows how to cook because a chef prepared it wearing special gloves
while being filmed by 3D motion capture technology. In doing so, the robot
knows how to cook the recipe exactly like the human that first demonstrated it.
The robotic arms are capable of sensing and detecting the way how humans
cook by the means of recording while the humans cook. This means the robotic
hands will even have natural pauses while cooking because it's replicating a
human. The kitchen will come with a protective screen to ensure safety. The robot
will also use a food processor instead of knives so people aren't scared by a
knife-wielding robot in their home.

reduces the coefficient of friction to its least
which saves time and increases its efficiency with
four claw gripper which can hold container with
precision and place them in proper position or
can arrange them in stock pile.

SALIENT USER INTERFACE FEATURES

The lifters are equipped with laser center alignment sensors which aim at the
accurate place for lifting or dropping the trolley.

The crane is equipped with monitoring tablet which acts as the controlling
equipment and measures the payload over the machine, energy being consumed,
and troubleshoots any type faults in the working of the machine and alerts
instantly.
ACTIVE SWAY CONTROL limits load swing by controlling the bridge and trolley
acceleration and deceleration. Sway Control allows faster load handling and
more precise positioning. This feature also prevents damage to the load, crane,
and surrounding area.

SNAG PREVENTION is designed to stop all crane movement if the hook, sling or
load accidentally gets caught on something. This safety function reduces the risk
of hazardous situations while moving loads and helps to prevent damage to the
load, crane, and surrounding area.

ACTIVE SWAY CONTROL limits the unnecessary swinging of the arm in order to

5.0 AUTOMATION AND ROBOTS

maintain stability by controlling the bridge and trolley acceleration and
deceleration with the help of A.I, this allows faster load handling and precise
positioning.

Port facilities for cargo ships:

Cargo ports are same as passenger

ports and the docking of cargo ports
are done by overhead cranes, delta
robots, exo robots and ASC’s. When a
space shuttle is about to land on
AREXIAL, humans will be requested to
depart from the ports and the doors
will be opened. During the time only
robots will be allowed in the ports and will be monitored via humans from control
rooms. As soon as the space ships are landed in the AREXIAL, air locking systems
will start with their work and will make the pressure, temperature and
atmosphere normal and will make it compatible for humans to work and monitor
there. After the doors are locked the ship will be stuck with arms which bring them
in position of loading and unloading and will make the work easier. Later the
robots will start with loading and unloading of cargos. Cargos will be divided
according to their distribution. They will
be transported to industries via rail lines.
There will be a maximum of 2 robots on
each line and will be transporting the
materials regularly, working 24/7 with
human monitoring from control rooms.
The large cranes are typically 80 feet
high and 110 feet wide and have been
developed to handle up to 10 rows of
containers. Two ASCs share a pair of rails, moving up and down the rails
carrying containers, continually stacking, and unstacking them. Cargo which is to
be stored are transported to 0g storage areas in a similar way like other goods
are transported. There the goods will be kept in a systematic manner so that
goods are not damaged. The storage areas are controlled by laser scanners and
positioning systems that can locate each container accurately so that it will not be
difficult to locate them. This also enables the working in every day-night
condition. It cuts the numbers of the staff and lowers the dependence of human.
The cranes handle all ISO standard 20, 40 and 45 foot containers. Each crane
typically has more than 20 three-phase, 460 V motors, each with its own variable
frequency drive to vary the speed in both directions.

Advanced Automation

5.0 AUTOMATION AND ROBOTS

Systems for port operations:

Sophisticated sensors are

mounted on the crane to detect
the position of the moving
parts, the load, and target
destination. These sensing
systems include encoders and
scanning laser rangefinders.

The automatic position

indication system makes direct
measurements of the gantry,
trolley, and hoist position via
laser rangefinders, unaffected
by factors such as rope stretch
and wheel slippage. The
automatic landing system uses laser scanners on the trolley to measure the
position of the spreader (the container pickup assembly). Gantry position along
the rails is determined using an antenna which picks up signals from transponders
embedded in the surface.

The optical positioning system uses laser scanners which measure the distance and
angle to any surfaces, such as the container, the lifting spreader, and target
container. A second axis scanner picks up the ends of the containers. With these
measurements the crane control can automatically pick and land containers in the
stacks, based on instructions issued by the Yard management computer system.

There is a remote control room in the operations building with operator stations
and video screens to allow the crane to be switched to manual control if
unexpected conditions occur. Currently, human control is used when the
automated crane interfaces with a manned over-the-road truck at the
delivery gate. Safety is paramount for automated overhead cranes
and as such a wide variety of systems and controls are in place to
assure that automated overhead cranes and people will never have an
unfortunate moment.

VERTICAL LIFT MODULES

5.0 AUTOMATION AND ROBOTS

The vertical lift module provides high density storage with fast access to stored
goods. The module automatically delivers trays with stored items to an access
window with a push of a button. The operator then picks or replenishes stock and
the tray is returned to its home upon confirmation. Upon storage, the unit
automatically scans the height of the tray to maximize storage density within the
unit. Inside, trays are stored vertically on both sides of the unit with an extractor
device that travels in the center to store and retrieve trays. The rapid movement of
the extractor as well as inventory management software can dramatically increase
the efficiency of the picking process. Utilizing overhead space, up to 85% of a
conventional shelving systems floor space may be recovered. The module delivers
parts directly to the worker to increase picking productivity up to 2/3 and improve
ergonomics and worker safety. The monitoring of the module can be done from any
convenient location. The module is provisioned with A.I as well as manual operating
via the console.

HORIZONTAL CAROUSELS
The horizontal carousel is a highly
productive automated storage system,
working on the goods-to-man principle.
The carousel has a series of bins which
revolve on an oval track. An operator
simply inputs a bin number, part
number or cell location and the
carousel will rotate via the shortest
path. Carousels provide high
performance picking by combining jobs
into batches. A wave of orders is sent
to the pod. A group of orders are
selected to create a batch. The operator simply follows the lights and pick round
robin from the carousels and place items in a batch station behind them.

FEATURES OF HORIZONTAL CAROUSELS

 Much reduced walking and waiting time

 Operators are guided by pick to light systems which ensure 100%
accuracy.
 The horizontal carousel eliminates unproductive travel and search times
using software controlled picking sequences to deliver stored goods.

6.0 SCHEDULE AND COST

Phase 11 – Construction process will end up with
development of solar panels and coating.
GANTT CHART
Space Future is for everyone who'd like to travel to space for
themselves. In fact most people would - but they don't expect
to get the chance.
7.1 FACILITIES FOR PASSENGERS
ARRIVAL
1. Space travellers will be allowed to get the experience of
zero and micro gravity when they land at the port after
paying some taxes.

7.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

2. So a trip to a hotel will start with launch to orbit, which
takes about 5 minutes of powered acceleration, followed by
up to a few hours of weightlessness approaching the hotel
(depending on the flight schedule).
3. Docking will be rather like an airliner parking at an
airport - but you'll leave the cabin floating in zero-G along
the access tube, holding on to a cable with your hands!
SAFETY PROCEDURE AND SECURITY
Passengers will have a medical test so as be given the
proper treatment at the hospital and required special
attention too.
List of Unacceptable Items Lifetime Prohibited Items
Firearms Fireworks and fire extinguishers
Knives Gunpowder’s and smoke flares
Scissors Controlled drugs, and contraband drugs
Ammunition Vehicle airbags
Hammers Liquid bleach
TOURISM
1. Hotels in orbit will offer the services you expect from a
hotel - private rooms, meals, bars. But they'll also offer two
unique experiences: stupendous views - of Earth and space -
and the endless entertainment of living in zero-g - including
sports and other activities that make use of this.
2. "Market segmentation" - developing different services for
different groups in the population - just like travel agencies

7.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

do on Earth.
3. For example, the elderly are going to be looking for a
quieter holiday than young people - who might be going up
mainly for sports - perhaps for a competition. The will be
family holidays, astronomical holidays - and talking about
market segmentation, what will lovers do in space?
Just like travel on Earth there'll be a whole range of different
services and levels, from the highest-priced luxury mansions
to minimum-cost theme-park style holidays.
7.2 LANDING PORTAL
Sometimes, a safe landing is accomplished by using multiple
forms of lift, thrust (propulsive landing) and dampening
systems. The base will provide refuelling option to
passengers if they want to refuel the spaceships themselves
otherwise the will do the needful.
While the conveyor belts will do the refuelling and will make
sure to find any damage in the spacecraft and the conveyor
belts will do the heavy lifting of the items brought in the
space shuttle and then the spacecraft will be taken for
upgradation and maintainance if required.
CONTROLLING SPACE TRAFFIC
1. Passenger launch vehicles travelling to and from orbit will
clearly need to be integrated into these air traffic
management systems. Among other things this will require
determining standard flight-paths between the orbits and
airports used for passenger services, and determining
appropriate in-flight separation rules for these new
categories of vehicle.
2. In particular, both when launching to a particular orbital
position and when returning from orbit it will be impractical
for launch-vehicles to carry sufficient propellant to enable
them to change course substantially.
PORT DESIGN
7.3 FACILITIES FOR TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
1. The crates brought would be checked for damage or any
hazardous substances present causing potential damage to the
settlement .Robotically controlled cargo vehicles will do the
heavy lifting in space. Doing so minimizes astronaut risk.
2. Specially designed crew vehicles will fly separately or in
tandem with cargo vehicles and should provide a "full

7.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

envelope" - all phases of flight -- escape mode for the crew.
3. The cargos will be of dimensions (13.7 x 4.6 meters) square
cross section and can be transported in the space elevators.
4. The warehouses have the capacity to hold …….. Cargos
respectively and will be maintained efficiently by regular
checks by the food inspectors place there.
WAREHOUSE
1. PRODUCT
What kind of goods will it hold?
As we all know that warehouses are primarily used for
storage purpose, it is essential that we clearly understand all
the characteristics of these goods. For instance, characteristics
like no. of units to be stored, unit weight, unit dimensions and
so on. Since it’s all about the product/goods, we should make

7.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

sure to categorize the goods and make a place for the same
in the warehouse design as per the requirement.
2. SPACE
What physical characteristics should the warehouse have?
The dimensions and characteristics of the warehouse
infrastructure play a huge role in deciding the layout
structure inside the warehouse. These features impact the
design of shelves, capacity of the installations and the
distribution of the goods inside the warehouse. There are
some limitations too that must be considered: access, floors,
windows, columns, boxes, lines and power lines are all
examples of parts of an installation that influence the design.
There are building regulations too which directly affect the
calculations of metal storage structures and ultimately, the
warehouse design too.
3. EQUIPMENT
What means are available?
In many cases, basic warehouse design not only includes
vacant space but elements like racks, lifts or transport
equipment are also taken into account. These components
really influence the design proposal.
They make it possible to evaluate which design best adapts
to project needs, any limitations present and/or the need to
integrate new equipment in the future as per capacity
expansion.
4. CIRCULATION OF GOODS
How do goods circulate?
Circulation here means the movement that happens in
logistical operations, such as dispatch, receipt and order

7.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

preparation processes. Product rotation is how often the
goods are renewed, i.e., a high-rotation product is one that
has a high rate of input and output. Moving loads involve
costs, hence it’s better to minimize the movement, provided
the company operational procedure admits it. Detecting
these flows is very important as they contribute in defining
what is needed for effective warehouse design.

4. CIRCULATION OF GOODS
How much is the manpower requirement?
The working staff within the warehouse is one of the most
important assets of any company.
It is important to know the required number of employees,
their level of training, how they are organized, the shifts they
work in and other related factors in order to refine the
proposed warehouse design. They should be introduced to
various automated components, warehouse management
software and other IT tools which are nowadays much more
specialized than before. Industry standards also demand
high level commitment on the part of management to make

7.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

sure health & safety standards for workforce are in place.
WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS
Warehouse operations decide the supply chain efficiency to a
great level. How these operations will be carried out depends
on the layout of warehouse. Thus, it is important to consider
warehouse design an integral part of supply chain process. It’s
been observed that warehouses designed by supply chain
experts enable organizations to achieve maximum out of their
warehouse operations and enhance overall efficiency. Holisol’s
in-house design specialists have +50 years of experience in
designing warehouses for supply chains across industries. Reach
out to us and explore the magic we create in our warehouse
designs.
7.4 BASE FOR LUNAR SHUTTLES
1). The settlement will be able to transport cargo and people to
and from modules and spacecraft, and to carry out scientific
study of a larger area of the lunar surface for long periods of
time.
2). Passengers can use the space elevator for going to the space
settlement and can also enjoy the view from the moon.
3). The lunar base will have fuel depots to provide any
necessary requirements like maintenance, repair and fuel. Here
it will be done by the crew members of the spaceship.
DAY 1
People boarded the space shuttle on the Earth and landed on
the docking yard of the massive AREXIAL. The adventure began
with the opening of the air lock door of the docking yard and
the shuttle entered the docking yard, thereby closing the air
lock doors behind it.
As soon as the travellers boarded off the shuttle, they had to
undergo a security check, and moved on towards the Hyper-
loop. The Hyper-loop took the passengers to Residential
