• Shimadzu is the only company to provide Auto sampler which is compatible to

Flame technique, Graphite Technique as well as other accessory like HVG
(Hydride Vapour Generator) i.e. one auto sampler is required for all methods. All
other manufacturers have separate Auto sampler for Flame Technique, Graphite
Furnace & HVG etc.

• Shimadzu’s auto sampler has in built feature of auto dilution wherein sample can
be diluted upto 300 times. For other manufacturers this feature is available at
extra cost that too with dilution upto 100 times. As Shimadzu’s auto sampler is
common for Flame, Furnace & HVG; thus is HVG one can perform auto dilution
feature which is exclusive with Shimadzu.

• Shimadzu’s auto sampler probe supports commercial pipettes tips, so that one tip
can be removed & next attached before next sample so as to avoid contamination.

• Shimadzu provides ceramic bead at exit of Nebulizer, which will last lifelong,
while other manufacturers provide glass bead which is prone to breakage due to
sudden high impact of aerosol. High efficiency nebulizer with chamber made of
engineering plastic, Platinum-Iridium orifice and Ceramic impact bead resistant
to strong acids including HF

• Shimadzu in its standard supply provides high sensitivity lamps thus it does no
require EDL & HCL separately for different elements as provided by other
manufacturers

• Shimadzu’s operating software i.e. WizAArd is totally as per CFR 21 part 11

compliance

• Shimadzu is the only company to provide software feature “Auto Gas Leak
Check”. This is the most important safety feature in Atomic Absorption
Spectrophotometer operation. In general there is no means by which one can
check leakage of gas internally. In Shimadzu system when operator’s switches on
the instrument software will automatically check for 10 minutes whether
internally there is a gas leak. During this period operator cannot switch on flame,
only after display screen shows OK then only operator can ignite flame

• Comprehensive Advance Safety Technology includes : Vibration Sensor auto

flame extinction, Flame Retardant body & Atomizer, Drain Tank Level Monitor,
Automatic flame extinction during power sudden power interruption,

• Shimadzu’s operating software i.e. WizAArd offers features for automatic

operation & error free results like Auto Lamp Positioning, Auto Lamp current
setting, auto Burner Height adjustment {this is required whenever we change gas
cylinder Or any other hardware}, Auto optimization of Gas flow rate, Auto
Wavelength settings. Such features are rarely provided by any other
manufacturer.

• Other exclusive features of software to enhance better analysis are : (a) Line
search feature {i.e. for a particular element wavelength software will
automatically search ± 10nm to see where there is max. energy absorption}

• Shimadzu offers Optical sensor above Graphite tube in Graphite Furnace, which
senses the temperature of the furnace apart from temperature being controlled by
current. Thus Shimadzu offers two way control of precise & accurate
temperature.

• Shimadzu is the only company to guarantee long lifetime of graphite tubes like
2000 firings while all other manufacturer offers 500 – 800 firings.

• Shimadzu’s Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer work in Emission Model also

i.e. as a flame photometer
