The Institute of Neuroscience - UCLouvain - Belgium

Postdoctoral Fellow - Rhythm & Brains Lab

Researchers within the Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience division (COSY)

of the Institute of Neuroscience (IONS) in Brussels, Belgium, seek to
understand the neural mechanisms underlying perceptual, cognitive and
motor functions in humans.

Located in the COSY division of the Institute, the Rhythm & Brains Lab
currently offers a

Postdoctoral position

as part of a research project funded by the Belgian Fund for Scientific

Research (FNRS Incentive Grant, PI Sylvie Nozaradan).

The project investigates the neural mechanisms that underpin the ability to
perceive and synchronize to rhythmic inputs. These mechanisms will be
examined by combining surface and invasive electroencephalography (EEG),
neuromodulation and behavioral indices of rhythmic entrainment in humans,
together with development of signal processing methods to track the neural
activity related to rhythm processing (e.g. frequency tagging).

The candidate should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, for example
psychology, hearing science, neuroscience. The candidate should have
experience in designing experiments, collecting and analyzing human data
using Matlab or equivalent software. The candidate should also have good
communication skills in English, and be open to international collaboration
(France, Australia).

The position is a full time, 18 months fixed term contract according to Belgian
standards. Applications should be sent preferably before December 10, 2019
(for starting date January 2020), but later applications will be considered until
the position is filled.

Please submit a detailed CV, a summary of research interests and

experience, and names of two references (including PhD supervisor), as a
single pdf to Dr. Sylvie Nozaradan (sylvie.nozaradan@uclouvain.be).
