LESSON PLAN LESSON: butterfly

Teacher: Mariam Subject: Science

Grade: Three Unit: Living World Date: October 21, 2019

Students will be able to: Identify and use the vocabulary related to the life cycle of a butterfly.

Link to prior learning: Students will need to be familiar with the following: butterfly life cycle.

In the beginning, the teacher will check the student’s prior knowledge by

who know the fourth stage of butterfly life cycle?

Tr: will give the students 1 minute to turn and talk with a partner then raise
your hand if they know the answer.
Tr will choose students randomly.
Ss will answer.

Modeling

Today we are going to continue the last lesson that we are taken its butterfly
life cycle
Tr will shows the students picture of butterfly life cycle.
Tr will ask the students “can you remember what we called this?”
Tr will choose the students randomly.
Tr will ask the students “who can come and tell us the butterfly life cycle?”
Tr: will choose the students randomly.

Resources & Time Main activities (30 minutes)

Emergent activity:

Students will work in individually. The teacher will give the students
instruction and give them example about the activity. After that, the teacher
will give the students the materials (papers, colours)

The students will have papers that prepared for the stages (first, next, then,
finally)

Students will draw and colour the butterfly life cycle in order.
Development Activity:

Students will work in individually. The teacher will give the students
instruction and give them example about the activity.

Students will have opened butterfly that have white papers inside. Students
will draw the stage in each white paper.

Master activity:

The students will work individually. The teacher will give the students
instruction and give them example about the activity.

Tr will give the students plate, butterfly pictures, colours and glues.

Students will draw and glue the butterfly life cycle in the plate by using the
colours and glue.
 The teacher will clap her hand and ask the students to clean up their table.

Resources Plenary (5 minutes)

Tr: will do recap for the lesson.

Tr will let each to students to sit in front each other.

Teacher will write on the whiteboard (first, next, then, finally).

Teacher will ask the students to talk with their partner that who’s front of
them. And give each partner one stage of butterfly cycle to discuss.

For example, the first group will draw an egg so the students will talk about it
and where should they draw, in which stage.

The second group will draw a caterpillar, so the students will talk about it and
where should they draw in which stage.

The third group will draw a chrysalis, so the students will talk about it and
where should they draw in which stage.

The final stage the teacher will draw it in the whiteboard.
