Plan (What)

In this step we had essentially focus on what activities the drive will involve. We had set a primary goal and plan in advance, as to what we want to do in the drive. Our primary goal is to keep our school area clean; we listed out the thing to achieve our primary goal. The list contained activities like making the school a litter-free zone, recycling, planting trees, spreading awareness, making groups, assigning tasks to the groups etc. we had specific goals.

Create awareness (Why)

In this step we inform fellow students about why you all are carrying out the drive. This step requires us to create awareness about the importance of cleanliness. We did this by pasting posters depicting the need for cleanliness in and outside the school campus and talking to our students about the concern. We motivated our fellow students to involve themselves in the cleanliness drive and clean the area around the school campus raised slogans & marched around the locality and convey to them why it is important to maintain cleanliness. By doing this the students felt motivated and involved themselves more effectively in the drive.

Implementation

We students performed the activities as planned. Thereby, gained knowledge and awareness on cleanliness drive.

My teacher assorted the class into groups of 6 and allocated special areas to dissect and detect the problems of that area:

We utilized our W/Exp. AND HPE periods for the same. The dry leaves and twigs were cleared , from the garden Few saplings were sown to make it a memento of our labour as well as beautify our school surrounding

The class shelves were cleaned. The school corridors were cleared after the lunch break. Special team was assigned to guard the washing areas to stop splashing of water to the floor to avoid accidents. The class bins were given special attention after the breaks and after each period. Cob webs were cleared ,the writings on the tables were wiped Care was taken to check that each student cleans their hands with soap before starting their lunch.

INDIA is a developing country of diverse population still requires directions to make the community aware of the consequences of not practicing cleanliness habits. To make aware the community the importance of cleanliness in neighborhoods parks, market places ,roads and cities To make them aware that unclean and unhealthy surroundings as breeding ground of epidemics and diseases leading to immense hospitalization charges To Develop and creative methodology to raise awareness in community and put to test drive.

Societies were identified in the neighborhood Arrangements were made prior by taking permission from the Society Secretaries to allow us to demonstrate some ways of keeping the society and households clean. Posters and banners were displayed on the society notice boards with an APPEAL for Proper garbage disposal, Green and Blue Bins, Recycling, Generous use of Water, Proper Sanitation, Respect society properties NEIGHBOURING PARKS , PLAYGROUNDS WERE ALSO TAKEN CARE BY

1. Teaching the young kids to throw litters in the proper bins 2. Children of the slum dwellers were taken special care to generate awareness of health and hygiene 3. I personally took care in cleaning the section of the Park

If young people start accepting real changes with challenges the elderly people of the society and people in power will have no choice but to make the changes happen in reality. hand washing facilities allowing groups of 10-12 students to wash hands at the same time. The hand washing station should be simple, scalable and sustainable, relying on usage of minimum water. These hand washing facilities can be developed using local materials. Group hand washing with soap sessions are conducted before the meals are served, and are supervised by teachers, who emphasize good hand washing techniques. The hand washing sessions are used as an opportunity for delivering hygiene messages, especially the message that hands should be washed at two critical times: before eating and after using the toilet. The sessions can also be used to deliver messages on sanitation and drinking-water safety. Adequate time allocation (preferably 10-12 mins) before the lunch break meal time, to ensure that every child and teacher can wash hands with soap, conveniently.

School Maintenance Schedule Some members of the SMC as well as school teachers will have to take responsibility for maintaining the school Operation and Maintenance (O&M) schedule. For this purpose, will designate a supervisor (at the suitable level) to visit centres and make adequate observations for appropriate follow-up actions. A general checklist of maintenance schedule is as follows:
