Universal Design for Learning (UDL:

This activity involves a video I made and edited on the life cycle of plants. It is a great way to incorporate
technology in the classroom and allow kids to get base knowledge on the life and parts of a plant.

Lesson idea implementation:

The topic will be introduced by allowing the students to watch the video created on the life cycle of plants.
They will learn the parts of the plant and what the plant’s life looks like. They will be able to see different
diagrams and pictures of plants. They will also gain a base knowledge on plants before the activity.
The Teacher will bring in different plants and the students will help the teacher dissect each plant. They will
identify the different parts of each plant. This will allow them to see each part with their own eyes. They will
then help the teacher plant a plant. They will watch it grow and observe the growth each week.

Importance of technology:
The tool is important because it is what gives the children their base knowledge on the parts of the plant. The
teacher is also able to practice with technology by creating and editing their own video. The project needs this
tool in order to introduce the topic.

Reflective Practice:
This activity will help students to learn about how you can create you own educational video for the benefit of
others. It also allows students to get hands on interaction with new topics they are learning. To further extend
the lesson I could show parents an app on plants and the life cycle of plants. We could also encourage them to
review the topic with their children at home.
