Dear Sarah:
My name is Savanna Pechac and I am Danny’s English teacher here at Coronado High School. I am
looking forward to meeting you at our parent-teacher night next week. I am unfortunately contacting
you sooner due to my concern for Danny’s current failing grade.
I have assigned three major projects so far this semester and Danny has not turned in one. It is my policy
in the classroom to allow one of these assignments to not be turned in. When a second assignment is
missing, I speak with the student directly to address the problem. I spoke with Danny and asked why
both assignments are missing, and he expressed his disinterest in the class. I attempted to reason with
him by explaining the necessity of passing this class and then offered him the opportunity to make up
the assignments. He never made up the work and then did not turn in a third assignment. After a third
assignment is not turned in and when a student is failing, it is my policy to contact and inform a parent
of the situation.
Danny is a bright young boy and I am expressing my concern to you because I want to see Danny
succeed and help him in any way that I can.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. You can contact me through email or give
me a call if you desire. Again, I look forward to meeting you next week and we can discuss these details
in person.
Thank you for your time and concern.

Sincerely,
Savanna Pechac
