PODCAST PLAN

THE DISNEY DEBUNKER

BRIAN ASKINS OCTOBER 8, 2019

DESCRIPTION
Everyone knows the Disney company, and many people have heard
myths that Walt Disney’s head is frozen in Disney World, or that
there are secret passageways under Disneyland. In The Disney
Debunker, I will take a look at these common beliefs to see if they
are true or false.

TITLE OF PODCAST
The Disney Debunker: Common Disney Myths Debunked

PODCAST TOPIC
The Disney Debunker will focus on the topic of Disney and the truth
of the myths that have been spread to many fans.

GENRE OF PODCAST
Culture. I chose Culture, because Disney has become a part of our
culture, and many people around the world have heard a few of
these myths.

DESCRIPTION OF HOST
The Disney Debunker will be solely hosted by Brian Askins. Brian has
spent many hours of his free time studying Disney facts. When he
has time to vacation, you will find him at Disneyland in Anaheim,
California. Brian is studying Elementary Education at Arizona State
University and hopes to become an elementary school teacher in the
coming years. He also hopes to become a Cast Member at
Disneyland through the Disney College Program.

ESTIMATED LENGTH OF SHOW

Each of the Disney Debunker episodes will be approximately 30
minutes in length and will cover about 10 - 15 myths in each
episode. This length was chosen as it is not too lengthy, but will also
give enough time on each myth to dive further into them.

PROPOSED FREQUENCY OF SHOW

This podcast will be released weekly. There is not enough buzz
around this topic to have it released more than weekly, and it gives
more time to research for the following episode.

SCRIPT VS OUTLINE
I chose to follow a scripted narrative because there are many facts
that I need to stick to and cannot get wrong in order to maintain

2
100% accuracy to the listener. I will not be interviewing guests, and
just discussing the topic internally. I chose this so I can spend a
majority of the time talking about the facts of the case.

COVER IMAGE
My cover image depicts a very simple 3 circle Mickey Mouse with a
crack down the middle. This represents the debunking of the Disney
myths by breaking them down and finding the real facts.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS RATIONALE

I hope this podcast will make someone smile with how silly some of
the myths are, but also make them realize that not everything seen
on the internet is true.
