Course Description

The course covers the essential concepts and processes of science, technology and society and their interrelatedness. There will be an exploration on the
interactions among science, technology, and society (STS) through an issues approach. The course shall explore on how the society can stimulate scientific
knowledge and technology progress and development. This also covers a wide array of disciplines such as economics and political science.

Course Outcomes

At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1. Elucidate the relationships among science, technology, and society;

2. Develop the ability to analyze/solve problems critically and think innovatively and creatively;

3. make informed decisions regarding societal issues;

4. participate in activities towards attainment of environmental and societal sustainability;

5. discover one’s roles in responding to the needs of society.
