Land acknowledgement statement

Sheridan would like to acknowledge that all of its campuses reside on land that for thousands of years before us was the traditional
Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinaabe Nation, Huron-Wendat and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. It
is our collective responsibility to honour and respect those who have gone before us, those who are here, and those who have yet to
come. We are grateful for the opportunity to be working on this land. 1

An Overview of Pathways

GENERAL TRANSFER INFORMATION

Each institution determines its own transfer policies,
which are subject to change. This brochure is intended as a
general guide to help you get started. For more information,
contact the Admissions Office at the institution you’re
interested in attending.
As well as the transfer opportunities listed in this brochure,
you’ll find that most institutions consider additional
admission and credit transfer applications to programs
based on their general transfer policies. The amount of
credit transfer given will vary depending on the institution,
the program and your marks. For more details, visit the
websites of the institutions you’re interested in and search
for “transfer student” policies. Additional resources are
available at ONTransfer.ca. Sheridan students and alumni
may also consult with a Career Counsellor in Sheridan’s

Here are two stories of our students
who are now living the Pathways experience!

Amna
“Having a degree under my belt will be a personal
achievement and give me the opportunity to grow
professionally,” says Amna Syed.

Each stage of Amna’s education has inspired her towards the

next. She dropped out of high school just shy of graduation,
and then worked for several years before enrolling in
Sheridan’s Business Administration –Marketing program.
As she prepared to enter the job market, Amna realized that
while she was well-equipped to land a job, she’d need further
education to get the career she wants. “Each stage of my
education has been a stepping stone to better myself. Now
I’m building on my diploma to pursue my degree. I’m looking
forward to my new chapter.”

Carly
As a child, Rogers Sportsnet host and reporter Carly Agro
had different ideas of what she wanted to be when she grew
up. The path that lead her to Sheridan was a long one. After
completing a 4-year degree in the United States, she came
to study at Sheridan because she wanted to pursue sports
broadcasting. Sheridan’s program positioned Carly to realize
her dream and she’s now working for a national television
broadcaster in Toronto.

FACULTY OF APPLIED HEALTH AND COMMUNITY STUDIES

“Both the diploma and the degree were fantastic but it’s
the nature of this field – the more you learn, the more
questions you have. So I keep studying. ”

ENROLLED IN SHERIDAN’S ECE DIPLOMA AND PURSUED ECL DEGREE

After dropping out of high school in Grade 11, Shona attended culinary school and worked as a chef. During
that time, she had children and found that working irregular hours made finding child care nearly impossible.
She enrolled in Sheridan’s Early Childhood Education diploma program, igniting a passion in Shona – and
raising many questions about the Canadian child care system.
Those questions led her to transfer into Sheridan’s Early Childhood Leadership degree. Now mother to five
children, Shona is preparing to begin a master’s program at Ryerson University.
“There’s a good chance I won’t find the answers there either, and I’ll have to do a PhD. I’m fine with that.”

DANIELLE PUSATERI
HONOURS BACHELOR OF EARLY CHILDHOOD LEADERSHIP,
GRADUATE EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM

“They’ve watched me grow in this field, from diploma

student to degree student. Now they’re supporting me
in my graduate studies — and they’ve invited me to join
them as a faculty member. ”

PURSUED ECL DEGREE PROGRAM AND NOW A FACULTY MEMBER AT SHERIDAN COLLEGE
Faculty of

For Danielle, joining Sheridan’s faculty was a full-circle moment. “The faculty genuinely cared about me as a
student. Now I get to be on the other end of that, seeing these students, some just out of high school, entering
this new phase in their lives. I get to be there to say: ‘It’s (going to be) okay. We’re a family in this classroom;
we’re going to be on this journey together.’” Her favourite part about teaching? “I like watching these students
grow. It’s exciting to see their love for the field.”
