I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, learners are expected to:
1. discuss current issues related to copyright in regards to gov’t. /provide
sectors actions;
2. collect government sectors actions related to copyright;
3. cooperate to the government sectors in protecting intellectual property.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


A. Topic: Legal, Ethical, and Societal Issues in Media and Information Literacy

intellectual property.

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
- Greet the students and ask them to sit properly
- Checking of attendance
- Present the objective of the day
B. Lesson Proper
i. Activity
1. Students will watch two (2) video clips:
a. GMA News: “Mahigit P100-M halaga ng pirated DVD, nakumpiska sa
Quiapo, Manila”
b. GMA News: “Suspek sa Pamimirata ng mga Pelikula at TV Series,
Arestado”
2. Call some students to ask the question: What can you say about the two
video clips? Discuss your ideas to the class.
ii. Analysis
1. Why is digital piracy a crime?
2. Do you think government sectors have strict laws in regards to protecting
intellectual property? Why?
3. Do you think government sectors should propose stiffer penalties for the
violators of copyright?
iii. Abstraction
1. Ask students to collect government actions related to copyright (heard
from news, saw on Facebook, etc.)
2. Students will write their answer on the paper.
3. Call students to share their answers.
iv. Application
1. How can you cooperate to the government sectors in protecting
intellectual property of others or even your own work?

IV. EVALUATION (1 whole)


Essay: Your reflection on the two video clips.

V. ASIGNMENT (1/2 crosswise)


1. Make a research about Republic Act of the Philippines in regards to intellectual
property.
