St3: Comments: Ms. Rathjen has grown in the ability to communicate and reinforce behavioral expectations. She has learned to use
proximity, verbal acknowledgement, signals, and rewards to reinforce and redirect behavior. She uses many strategies
to minimize problems and maximize instructional time.

supervisors, and parents. She had many opportunities to be completely in charge of the classroom. She took an active

Ms. Rathjen is a highly motivated self-starter, demonstrating initiative and creativity in classroom activities. She is dependable,
prepared, and organized. She has a warm and positive personality. Ms. Rathjen uses engaging and effective teaching strategies. She is
dedicated to the teaching profession and strives for excellence in all areas.

Elliott has a very diverse student body. We have student that speak a variety of different languages and that come from a many
different cultures. We also have many student that have experience substantial trauma or are currently going through trauma. We are
a Title 1 school.

What are some of the specific strengths seen in this teacher candidate?

Rathjen, Miranda Program: Elementary Elliott Elementary Lincoln, NE


Miranda is always enthusiastic. She comes to school prepared to teach and has been extremely flexible when things have not gone as
intended. Her flexibility and willingness to help have made her extremely valuable in the short time that she has been with us. She has
also worked hard to build relationships with the students and they will miss her when she leaves.
