How does it work?

The specific steps a teacher should take to implement this practice is to first assign pairs of students together. These pairs can be based on one student who is at a high level
and the other student is a lower level. One student will be the tutor (serves as the teacher) and will provide the content which can include giving a math problem or reading a
passage out loud. The other student is the tutee and they provide the answer which can be verbally spoken or in writing. While the tutee is explaining and providing answers,
the tutor is listening and evaluating the accuracy of the responses. The teacher should monitor to students what this practice will look like. Teachers should also explain
respectful and kind manners that should be implemented like praising their partners or thanking them for trying. Students should be paired with materials that are at their level
of ability. All students should be given the chance to become the tutor to gain confidence in their skills. Rewards can also be offered to classmates for their correct responses.
