Cisco Packet Tracer is an essential tool in simulating the network system. It was developed by
Dennis Frezo and his team at Cisco System. It is a powerful tool that displays the various protocols in
Networking, a dynamic way in showing the configuration and a systematic method to experience
networking even without the real equipment used in Networking. Packet Tracer is just a supplement not
replacement for real devices used in Networking System. It will just show the dynamic way in either Real-
Time or Simulation.

Objective/s:
At the end of this activity, the students are expected to have been able to:
 Familiarize the Cisco Packet Tracer Environment
 Identify different devices used in Networks System
 Determine if the device is End device, Intermediary or a Media

Material/s Needed:
 Cisco packet Tracer installer

NOTE:Set up your video camera. Take your video while you are doing the activity. You will submit this as
your output for the activity.

Procedure:
1. Open the Cisco packet Tracer Program and choose Simulation Mode
2. Choose the following devices and drag it to the platform. You can select any type/model.
a. Personal Computer f. Printer
b. Laptops g. Optical Fiber
c. Switch h. cross-over cable
d. Router i. IP Phones
e. Hub
3. Using the Microsoft word, copy and paste the network devices above and identify if it is End
Device, Intermediary Device or Media.
