RESEARCH EXPERIENCE (30+ years)

• Inexpensive Renewable Energy Production

▪ Hydrogen gas production using Gobar (cowdung), Photosynthetic Green
Bacteria, Magnesium catalyst, Promoter X and Y and tested using Gas
Chromatography& Mass Spectrometry. Percentage obtained is 64% by volume in
comparison to 45% reported till date.
▪ LPG substituent Gas using Gobar and biodegradable waste materials
▪ Flame temperature of the fuel gases measured using Temperature-meter
▪ Direct generation of electricity from cowdung slurry
▪ Conversion of Methanol to Gasoline using Molecular Sieve 5 A
• Economical Waste Water Treatment & Air Pollution Control
▪ Purification of muddy water into potable water in rural areas
▪ Used locally available fibrous materials, such as wheat straw, rice straw, rice
husk, old clothes
▪ Used Wood charcoal to remove colour material and pathogen
▪ Lime to remove colloidal particles
▪ Bleaching powder and sunlight to remove pathogens
▪ Utilised Sand bed to remove suspended particles
▪ Residue sludge was treated with anaerobic bacteria to generate Fuel gas
▪ Utilised the huge amount of fly-ash emitted from coal based thermal power
plants that is dumped on land and surface water into essential plant nutrients. I
discovered some noble bacteria that can biodegrade the pollutants into useful
nutrients that not only monitors air quality but also improves soil fertility
▪ Currently working on the upgradation of existing Water Treatment Procedures
❖ Utilise the isolated bacterial strains instead of synthetic chemicals
❖ Use bacteria to remove organic wastes and heavy metals, such as
cadmium, mercury, lead, arsenic, and copper
❖ Use bacterial pigments to detect the presence of heavy metal ions and
remove them
• Inexpensive useful non-toxic fertilizer production
▪ Degradation of toxic insecticides, pesticides, and herbicides into non-toxic
productive fertilizers using different types of bacteria and various metal
catalysts
▪ Enzyme production from bacteria without slaughtering of animals
▪ Conversion of infertile into arable lands
• Making of Natural Medicine
▪ Production of Violacein from bacteria
▪ Production of anti-diabetic and anti-cancer drugs from Violacein
▪ Production of Prodigiosin to treat diabetes
▪ Production of biopigments: Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red, Pink for food and
fibre colouration
▪ Production of Anti-Diabetic and Anti-Malarial medicines from plant
extractions:
• Measurement of Band gap of the pigments produced to be used as semi-
conductors
