Rhetorical Knowledge: An articulate writer can use a rhetorical knowledge to effectively

communicate with their audience or readers. This is done through using a combination of ethos,
pathos, and logos to create a writing piece geared toward a specific audience or subject. These
techniques are usually used in different amounts depending on what the subject is and who the
audience is. Rhetorical knowledge can be useful when you are trying to express an idea of
feelings to other readers, as your rhetorical knowledge will assist you in making your feelings
understandable to others. Rhetorical knowledge is crucial due to how it can help you understand
how to express yourself easily.

Critical Reading: An articulate writer uses critical reading to explore possible sources in a
deeper fashion that leads to greater understanding. This assists the writing process by allowing
the writer to have a greater understanding of the topic while also encouraging the writers essay to
flow better. Critical reading assists a writer in freeing up their paper from unnecessary
information while instead filling it with factual information. This leads the reader to understand
why something is happening, instead of just knowing what something is.

Knowledge of conventions: An articulate writer uses their knowledge of conventions by

incorporating proper grammar, tone , and documentation in their piece. Proper grammar as well
as punctuation and sentence structure can make or break a piece. You can have a wonderful idea
that could benefit many people, but if you can’t even formulate basic sentences no one will take
your idea seriously, or even worse, they might not be able to understand it.

Composing proses: An articulate writer uses composing processes to formulate breath taking
essays by using the formula of writing, finding your mistakes, and getting peer review. Peer
review and draft are some of the single most important tools a writer will ever use. These are
important because a writing should go through stages in order to successfully reach its full
potential. Reading out loud to yourself as well as getting a second pair of eyes will often help
you find mistakes inside your essay that you would not have noticed on your own.

Critical Reflection: An articulate writer uses composing processes to analyze and understand an
experience made in their writing. Reflection is all about self evaluation. Usually someone's
biggest critic is themselves. So when reflection truly one must be honest and harsh with
themselves in order to create a better product. A good question to ask yourself when you are
reviewing your work is, what is a reader going to gain from reading this? Or asking what in this
reading can I apply to my life.
