”Mentiras: el musical” is a Mexican jukebox musical based on popular songs from the 1980’s, written

and directed by José Manuel Lopez Velarde. It is produced by OCESA, a big show producer company in
Mexico, with Federico Gonzalez and Morris Gilbert as Executive Producers.

The Musical celebrated 3300 performances in July 2018. (As a reference, Grease is rank 15 in the longest
running musicals on Broadway with 3,388 performances).

It is currently playing in "Teatro México" in Mexico City and in a national tour through Mexico.

Daniela

Emmanuel’s loving wife, she’s innocent, naïve, she thinks life is easy and pink and beautiful, but when
Emmanuel starts acting weird and never being around, she begins to realize that her fairytale life might
be nothing more than lies.

ES ELLA MAS QUE YO? (Is she more than me?) Daniela is singing to her husband about how they should
remain strong and close together but battles with inner doubt and jealousy wanting to know who’s “the
other one” and if this other lover is better than herself.

Dulce

A quirky, easy-going, good-hearted kindergarten teacher. She falls in love with Emmanuel and gets
pregnant, but never dares to tell this to Emmanuel because he never seems to be around or doesn’t
seem to care enough.

LO SIENTO MI AMOR (I’m sorry, my love) Dulce is about to tell Emmanuel that she doesn’t feel the same
spark for him and wants to break up, but she is having trouble finding the courage to do so.

Lupita

Emmanuel’s loyal secretary. She is the comic-relief character of the story; she is madly in love with her
boss and would do anything to be with him. She is not ashamed of anything, and so speaks her mind
whether it is politically correct or not to do so.
