Hello President,

Being the senior vice-president of supply chain management here at Frontier One, it is my
responsibility to inform you of some recent issues. The manufacturer we supply cut production
of a couple of their product lines. Not only will this decrease Frontier One’s quarterly sales, but
it can fracture our longstanding relationship with the manufacturer. Seeing that we’ve had a loss
in revenue over the last three quarters we can’t afford to remain stagnant. My team and I are in
the process of partnering with a new manufacturer, Mach Series, who wants to leave their current
supplier because they are failing to meet their newly increased production needs. We can avoid a
merger entirely with this newly proposed solution. This decision may end our longstanding
relationship with our current manufacturer but is a promising new future for Frontier One.

Best regards,
Jacob Stewart

Subject: Urgent

Hello Everyone,

I understand you all have your own branches to oversee here at Frontier One. However, my
branch is currently facing a problem that could affect Frontier One as a whole. The manufacturer
we supply has made a large cut to their product line. This is going to result in a big loss of
revenue for Frontier One if we don’t find a viable solution. We have already experienced a loss
in revenue over the past three quarters and will not be able to take a hit this big. Our options to
fix this are slim and I’m open to ideas any of you may have to offer. My team and I have been in
the process of partnering with Mach Series, a new manufacturer, whose current supplier is failing
to meet their new production needs. The only issue with this solution is that this would be a
brand-new partnership and may disrupt our current one, potentially leaving us vulnerable during
the transition period if our current manufacturer were to find out. Therefore, it’s essential we
don’t disclose this to the rest of the company until it’s finalized. We’ve also considered a
wholesale approach where we’d ramp up production and lower pricing in order to beat out our
competitors. The only issue with this approach is we’d need to expand our production facility,
which will take roughly three months and be costly at the start. Otherwise, we have no other
choice but to move forward with the merger.

Sincerely,
Jacob Stewart

Subject: Here to Stay

Good afternoon everyone,

It has come to my attention there are rumors of a merger and layoffs going around the office and
I want to personally assure you this is not true. Frontier One wouldn’t be where it is today
without all the hard work from every one of you. You are all essential pieces of Frontier One’s
bright future. In fact, quite the opposite is being pondered as the board is considering expanding
our production facility. This business move will open more opportunities for Frontier One and all
its employees. We know that our decrease in revenue over these past three quarters has some of
you worried about Frontier One’s financial situation. We want to assure you Frontier One has
prepared for situations like this and can keep moving forward with no budget cuts. We look
forward to seeing everyone at the next company outing.

Sincerely,
Jacob Stewart
