Wh questions

Os Pronomes Interrogativos (Wh Question ou Wh Words) são usados para se

obter informações específicas. As perguntas elaboradas com eles são chamadas
wh-questions, pois todos os interrogativos, com exceção apenas de how (como),

começam com as letras wh. Na maior parte dos casos, os Interrogativos

(Question Words) são colocados antes de verbos auxiliares ou modais.

Vale lembrar que em Inglês para perguntas sempre é necessário o uso de um auxiliar (do,
does, has, have, can, will, etc,) mesmo usando as Wh words

1.WHO - QUEM (FUNÇÃO: SUJEITO)

Who is that tall man? (Quem é aquele homem alto?)

2. WHERE - ONDE
Where do you live? (Onde você mora?)

3. WHEN - QUANDO
When did they got married? (Quando eles casaram?)

(Por que você estava chorando?) Vale lembrar que na resposta, se

usa BECAUSE (‘CAUSE).
4. WHY - POR QUÊ?
Why was she crying?

Because (‘Cause) her sister broken her doll.

5. WHAT - O QUE, QUE

What time is our flight? (Que horas é o nosso vôo?)

6. WHICH - QUAL, QUAIS

Which of those girls is your girlfriend? (Qual daquelas meninas é a
sua namorada?)

7.HOW – COMO?
How are you today?

8. WHOM - QUEM (FUNÇÃO: OBJETO)

With whom did you go to the park? (Com quem você foi ao parque?)

9. WHOSE - DE QUEM
Whose is that dog? (ou Whose that dog is?)
(De quem é aquele cachorro?)

WH-QUESTIONS - TO BE

WH questions para pedir informações. São diferentes das “Yes/No questions”. Lembrando
sempre que nesse casso a ordem da pergunta é: Wh Word + to Be+sujeito+ complemento
(quando necessário)
