Android vs.

iPhone
Android or iPhone, which one is better? When the iPhone first came out in 2007
it revolutionized the cellphone market, catching everyone by surprise. It was the first
real smartphone that was actually "smart". It did the things it was meant to do and a little
more but with the price tag of $599, it made it harder for many people to get their hands
on it. When Android first came out about a year later, it was the perfect competitor to the
iPhone. It was much cheaper with a price of $179 making it much more easier for
people who couldn't afford the expensive iPhone to still have access to a functional
smartphone. The Android operating system was also more "freedom" based, allowing
the user to have more customization and control over their phone which appealed to a
lot of tech savvy people. With a lot of predecessor devices coming out over the years for
both operating systems, it has made it hard to choose between the two.

When talking about which is better iPhone or Android, it's important to know
which part you're talking about, the hardware or the software. In terms of the software,
the iPhone has always been known for its ease of use, with many Android users saying
that the iPhone is specifically for "children" and "old people". The six row, four column
apps on the home screen sort of adds to this theory. You can organize those apps but
only as much as the iPhone home screen allows. If you want to put the apps say, to the
bottom of the home screen, you will be disappointed as the operating system will force
the apps back to the top. You are however able to drag those apps into folders, to the
four-icon dock at the very bottom and change the background of the home screen but
that’s pretty much all that the home screen allows in terms of customization. The iPhone
may not have nearly as much customization as Android, but it does have one strength
that it has always been known for, stability.

Android has always been known for its customization and intuitive behavior
allowing you to complete more tasks how you want, when you want. The android
atmosphere is more personal and fun allowing you to do things you could only dream of
doing on iPhone, moving your apps anywhere on the home screen, having access to
widgets (iPhone also has this but they’re not as functional), and the ability to download
a completely different home screen if you dislike the one that it comes with.
Unfortunately, all of that is overshadowed by the one thing that has plagued android for
years, how unstable it can be at times. It lags and glitches more than iPhone (iPhones
can also do this sometimes despite what people say), and the hardware that the OS
comes on is generally unattractive for most people.

Both Android and iPhone have their advantages and disadvantages, so it just
comes down to what type of person you are. Do you love to personalize and customize
your phone inside and out, or do you like to keep it simple and just have something that
works how its supposed to? There is no definitive answer as to which one is better. It all
comes down to personal preference.
