UN Quiz bee

1. Each section must have two teams comprised of three (3) members.
2. The category with the corresponding participants are as follows: UN,
Current events, World History, Philippine facts and trivia, and General
Information.
3. There will be 3 rounds in the contest:
Easy- 10 questions; 1 point each
Average- 10 questions; 3 points each
Difficult- 10 questions; 5 points each
4. The participants should bring their own 1/8 illustration board, chalks
and eraser.
5.All questions will be read twice by the Quiz Master. Contestants will
write their answers on their slates (1/8 illustration board) after the
question is read twice.
6. Contestants may start answering only after the Quiz Masters signals
GO. They must stop writing answers after the time allotments: 15 seconds
for the Easy round, 20 seconds for the Average round, and 30 seconds
for the Difficult round.
7. All queries about the question (considerations) will only be
entertained by the Quiz Master right after the question.
8. All queries should be backed up by proofs
that are not outsourced from the Wikipedia. The quiz master has the
right to consider or not consider the query.
9.The TOP THREE (3) groups for junior (Grade 7, 8 )and senior division
(Grade 9, 10) will be proclaimed WINNERS after the contest.
10. Winners will be proclaimed after the contest.

Fan Painting

1. The contest is open to all JHS students of Tuguegarao City Science


Highschool.
2. Each class is required to only have 1 participant for this event.
3. Participants are to bring their own fans (A sample will be given prior to
the event) and materials (paint and brushes).
4. The facilitators will provide a randomized selection of different
countries and the participants willl have to pick one.
5. The painting must revolve around the chosen country.
6. They are given 2 hours to finish their fans.
7. The following criteria shall be used for judging:

Creativity 20%
Originality 20%
Relevance 50%
Cleanliness 10%
UN Random Play Dance

1. The contest is open to all JHS students of Tuguegarao City Science


High School.
2. Each class is allowed to have 5 to 7 participants for the UN Random
Play Dance.
3. Participants must be in the venue of the event 10 minutes before the
contest starts.
4. The facilitators will provide songs from 5 different countries.
5. The songs will be given a week before the contest.
6. The participants must choreograph each song. The order of songs will
be randomized and will be revealed on the day of the contest.
7. Each class shall have a designated place to dance and there will be
a showdown after solo performances.
8. Revealing costumes are strictly prohibited.
9. The following criteria shall be used for judging :

Creativity 30%
Props and Costumes 10%
Choreography and Relevance 50%
Audience Impact 10%

Name that Landmark

1. Each class should have one (1) participant in the said event.
2. There are three(3) rounds for this event: easy, average and difficult.
a. For the easy round, the participant should guess the country of the
picture.
b. For the average round, the participant should guess the specific
name of the landmark and country of the picture.
c. For the difficult round, the participant should guess the specific name
of the landmark and the country of the puzzled picture.
3. The pointing system will be; three(3) points for the easy round, five(5)
points for the average round, ten(10) points for the difficult round.

Name that Flag

1. Each class should have one (1) participant in the said event.
2.The participants shall provide their own slate boards(1/8 illustration
board).
3. There are three(3) rounds for this event: easy, average and difficult.
a. For the easy round, the participant should guess the country of the
flag shown in the picture. Contestants who'll have the top 10 highest
scores will proceed to the next round, the average round.
b. For the average round, the participant should guess the specific
name of the country or the organization of the flag shown in the picture.
The contestants who will have the top 5 highest scores will be the finalists
and will proceed to the difficult round.
c. For the difficult round, the participant should guess the specific name
of the country or the organization of the flag shown in the picture. This
round will determine the top 3 of this contest.
3. The pointing system will be; one (1) points for the easy round, three (3)
points for the average round, five (5) points for the difficult round.

Name that Language

1.Each class must have 1 participant.


2. Each participant should bring their own materials (1/8 illustration
board/slate and chalk)
3.There are three rounds for this event; easy, average and difficult.
a. For the easy round, the participant should guess the country of the
language shown.
b. For the average round, the participant should guess the country of
the language together with the name of the language shown.
c. For the difficult round,the participant should guess the country of the
language together with the name of the language.
4. The pointing system will be; three(3)points for easy round, five(5)
points for the average round, and ten(10) points for the difficult round.

Interpretative dance

1. There should be 10-15 participants each class.


2. Participants should make their own unique dance interpretation of
the given song.
3. The song to be performed will be “Heal the World” by Michael
Jackson for Grade 7 and 8 and “Earth Song” by Michael Jackson for
Grade 9 and 10.
4. Paticipants must be in the venue of the event 10 minutes before the
event starts.
5. Deduction will be given for those who will not follow the guidelines.
6. Criteria for Judging :

Choreography 40%
Originality 30%
Costume 10%
Overall Impact 20%

Ibanag Singing – Vocal Solo

1. The contest is only open to the Junior Division (Grade 7 and Grade 8)
of Tuguegarao City Science High School.
2. Each class should have one representative.
3.The accompaniment (Ta La Guerta) would be provided by the
Kabalikat officers.
4.Participants must be in the venue of the event 10 minutes before the
contest starts.
5. Tarrying of time by the contestant's turn shall result to an immediate
disqualification.
6. The following criteria shall be used for judging :

VOCAL
Vocal Technique – Tone Quality, 50%
Breath Support, Intonation, Diction
and Articulation
Rhythm & Tempo – Voice in relation to
music
EXPRESSION
Performance – How well the 30%
performer is able to express the
meaning and mood of the song

SHOWMANSHIP
Show Design – Effective use of Stage
and Performance Area, Outfit and
style 20%
Entertainment Value – The audience’s
and judges’ reaction to the overall
performance
Banner Making (Poslogan)

1. The contest is open to all JHS students.


2. Each class should have a team consisting of 5-7 members.
3. The size of the banner must be 3 by 5 ft.
4. The junior division (Grade 7 and Grade 8) should adapt the theme of
the IPED and the senior division should adapt the theme of the UN.
5. For the senior division, the banner must be related to the country
picked by the class.
6. The contestants can start doing the banner after disseminating the
guidelines.
7. The banner should be passed 2 days before the event.
8. Criteria for Judging :

Creativity 40%

Relevance to the theme 40%

Cleanliness 20%

Extemporaneous Speaking

1. The contest is only open to the Senior Division (Grade 9 and Grade 10)
of Tuguegarao City Science High School.
2. There should be only 1 participant each class.
3. The contestant is expected to review about UN and IPED. Expect that
the questions will revolve on UN and IPED.
4. Question will be given on the day of the event.
5. The contestant will have 2 minutes to prepare an answer to the
question. Recomended speech length is 2-3 minutes.
6. Partipants must be in the venue 10 minutes before the said event will
start.
7. Criteria for judging :

Delivery 30%

Content 40%

Impact 10%

Stage Presence 20%
