TEACHER’S DAY SPEECH 2019

Good morning…….
At very beginning, I would like to say thank you very much to my respected teachers to attend this
program and also thankful to all other non teaching stuffs to have their valuable time with us. I hearty
welcome everyone to this celebration.
Romans 12:6-7 "We have a different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us: if your gift is
prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching ,then
teach.
Down the centuries, many teachers have risen and gone by but the profession of teaching continues. A
great teacher is one a student remembers and cherishes forever. Teachers have long-lasting impacts on the
lives of their students, and the greatest teachers inspire students toward greatness.

Today on this auspicious occasion of teacher's day, I am very glad to find all my teachers to be here. A
huge love and respect to all of you. Now we are celebrating teacher's day on 5th September because to
respect our teacher's and remember them how important they are to us. Our parents give us birth and
stand us in the track and the teacher's are who teaches us to run on that track with right directions. They
labor us to teach well and well, they try their best to give us knowledge. The teacher's serve the whole
country in a good way by teaching the students, who are the future of tomorrow. And the teachers are
who makes the future of the students bright. We can never forget their gift to us.

In this country some great Leader born in the soil Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan is also one of them, who
was a scholar and teacher. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the first Vice President (1952) and second
President (1962-1967) of India said, "When we think we know we cease to learn." When he became
President, some of his students and friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday, 5
September. He replied, "Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5
September is observed as Teachers' Day" as "teachers should be the best minds in the country". His
birthday has since been celebrated as Teachers' Day in India. Even though the great Teacher Dr.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan no more with us but still he lives in our heart.

Hebrews 5:12 "For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again
the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food."
In Biblically recorded that it may be interest to know that Jesus was a Teacher in other words Lord,
Savior, Master and Redeemer. But here amazing fact that 90 times Jesus was addressed directly in the
Gospels, 60 times He was called a Teacher. Disciples referred to him, and Jesus himself used the term
when He said” you called me Teacher and lord and rightly so, for that is what I AM”(1 John 13:13).

Some good qualities of exemplary teachers focuses on educational teaching and needs of the
students, encourages and appreciates diversity, does not speak negatively of others,
communicates effectively with others, input from others, listening deeply and giving credit for
their contributions, motivates students and co-workers, encourages students to achieve their
goals, provides constructive feedback, Brings a wide range of skills and Teaching is clearly
presented that stimulates high-order thinking skills, presents difficult concepts comprehensibly.

An exemplary teacher is a leader, a support-system and hand to hold by. May teaching be a
profession of love (for the future of students) and not love for the remuneration. Dr. S.
Radhakrishnan believed that "teachers should be the best minds in the country".

Matthew 10:24 "The student is not above the teacher nor a servant above his master. At last,
once again i am thankful to all my teachers to be in my life and to teach us with their huge love
and guide. We will always miss your guidance and will always be grateful to you. Thank you.
