Filipinos as English Speakers

Giving a pinch of honesty, we’re all aware that Filipinos are in fact one of the most fluent English
speakers here in Asia. The abundance of English speakers here are present. We speak English wherever
we go, when we try to talk to our professors we speak English, when we talk to people with class we
speak English. In fact, Filipinos were even called Brown Americans once by the Americans when they
landed here in our country.

Filipinos who fluently speak English are more conscious compared to other nationalities who speaks
English as well. In a well executed survey, half and a quarter of filipinos out of a hundred percent were
afraid that they'll make mistake in delivering their English, since most of them are also criticizing ones
English skills. This also alludes to the Filipinos mentality where most of them will try to criticize ones
English skills and make fun of them, despite their more inferior knowledge in English. Jumping back ,
Filipinos who are good in English are more likely outstanding in a certain group of people. "They tend to
express themselves in a manner where the distinct line between the blur and clear is gradually
disappearing." says Flora Figuerres , an M. Ed and a Linguist.
