Design Verification Plan (DVP) preparation with reliability, meeting durability requirements

Modular Light weight & patented disc brake development for Premium version of Advance truck
Light weight SGI brake drum development for Base version of Advance truck
Concept vehicle build for advance truck followed by B build, with new BSVI engine after treatment system
1 Ton payload increment for advance truck, with use of new material technologies

Worked as a Engineering Project manager for Nano Automated Manual Transmission, Nano Start Stop and Nano
Model Year Projects, leading a team of 5 persons
Integrating the different system & subsystems in vehicle level which will meet cost, weight and
performance target as per Product Development System by suitable selection of aggregates.
Concept package layout and later on detailed packaging with DMU build
Alignment of DMU with the feature list and ensure DMU build as per Product configuration matrix.
Ensure Quality in Design release process by DML checks
Engineering design reviews and system spec finalization along with technical signoff
Consolidate the timing requirements from individual COC related to Engineering activities thereby
converting into engineering activity timeline
Prepare signoff at various gates of project to make sure delivery as per timeline
Product Attribute, Target Book Management & Decision sheets for aggregate/system selection
Digital validation plan and performance prediction for all attributes through CAE prior to Project FDJ
milestone.
Coordination with Indoor and Outdoor testing to execute DVP, in line with project plan
Generating Critical Information brochure(CIB) and tracking DFMEA
Ownership of Prototype Builds and Coordination for alpha, Beta, PO and PP batch build
Manpower management and prioritization based on the finalized Nano product plan
Acted as cross functional team head for Vehicle validation issue resolution plan for Nano AMT
Issue Management :Validation and Quality issues resolution for Nano Model Year
Zero turn concept evaluation for Nano Project: Demonstrator built for Nano near zero turn project as a part
of innovation with turning circle diameter of 6m compared to current diameter of 8m.
ERC level Major Project milestones i.e. Engineering Sign Off was completed for Nano Twist
FDJ milestone completed for Nano AMT as per New Product Introduction Process
Tata Motors Limited : Pune Assistant Manager : Nano Brake system Period: May’08 – Jul’11
Worked for Design and development of Nano Brake System, Effectively coordinated and lead a team of with 3
CAD engineer
Roles & Responsibilities:
Design and Development of drum brake system with completely new platform strategy considering cost and
weight constraint for Nano Gasoline and Nano CNG
Later on up gradation of Drum brake system with disc brake variant for Nano upgrade along with the
package protection for future version with ABS
Brake disc weight reduction of 30% w.r.t. benchmark which also contributed for fuel economy improvement
Design robustness in Nano brake system done as a part of continuous improvement based on validation
feedback such as performance test, durability, reliability
Brake design initiated with effective benchmarking exercise and Design of test fixtures as a part of
digital validation
Shorten development time:
1. Design for brake system for Nano Europa done within 1 month to initiate proto built activities.
2. Brake circuit with ABS developed in short period and Design for Nano CNG parking brake lever mounting
scheme finalized within one week based on urgent requirement. 2
Participated and ensured closure of the respective DFMEA & DVP activities with respect to brake system
Interacted with testing departments and project planning to make sure design validation in synchronization
with project timeline
Field failures resolution & implementation of measures for brake system issues
Testing methodology, type of tests such as performance test, durability, reliability, multi environmental tests
and co-relation of road load data to meaningful validation on component
Knowledge of domestic certification and export homologation requirements

Shorten product development time with complexity reduction by Front strut communization where hose
mounting scheme was only the criteria

As a Graduate Engineer Trainee completed three On Job Assignments, in different departments
Assignment 1 Shift In charge for Chassis Line(Central Quality), Light commercial vehicle Period: 3Months
Central Improvement in First Shot OK vehicle rate from 40% to 60% through resolution of high frequency
Quality defects, feed forth to line & PDI gate with strict adherence to check sheets. Also introduced Poka
yoke’s for quality improvements
Assignment 2 Process improvements done as a part of FPIG group Period: 3Months
Gearbox Special ring developed for 2 ,3 and 5 gear, due to which Gear bore honing machine setup time

Production reduced by 40% with improvement in gear honing quality and reduced rejection by 20%
Assignment 3 Chassis department Period: 3Months
ERC Nano pedal box design was developed with 10% cost reduction compared to benchmark as well as
proved on the endurance cycle at aggregate level as well as on vehicle level validation, appreciated
by department head and absorbed for final placement.
