I. RESUMEN
II. ABSTRACT
Carrying out the granulometric analysis of a soil determines the different sizes of
the particles and the percentages in which these sizes intervene in its universe that
soils, also to perform their classification. The well-known terms clay, silt, sand
and gravel have such an origin and a soil was classified as clay or as sand as it had
such or such maximum size. The need for a soil classification system is not
debatable, but the engineer must look for one in which the classification criterion
is useful.
The granulometric analysis to which a soil is subjected is very helpful for the
construction of projects, both in structures and on roads because with this one can
know the permeability and cohesion of the soil. Also the soil analyzed can be used
This report explains the procedure of two methods of granulometric analysis, dry
and washing respectively, also comparing whether the granulometry of the soil

(Huamán, A. 2017)
