S.R.ELECTRO CONTROLS
Autostart is a state of the art Micro controller
based AMF logic module used for Automatic
Bangalore Starting and stopping of Diesel Engine Pumps
on Pressure switch activation in a Fire control
Panel. The front fascia of the Autostart AMF
logic module is shown above. There are 5
pushbuttons in the Autostart AMF logic
module. These are: Start (1), Stop (2), Reset
(3), Acknowledge (4) and Mode (5), Visual
indications are provided by LEDs for the
following: Power on (DC supply on), Pump on,
Engine Start, Engine Stop Manual mode, Auto
mode, Low oil pressure, High engine
temperature, Start failure and Engine Over-
speed. The functions of each of the above
pushbuttons are explained below :
Start (1): To start the engine in manual mode.
Stop (2) : To stop the engine in manual mode

Engine starting delay after mains failure: Reset (3) : To reset the system after any fault

Autostart performs the complete control
functions in an AMF panel for a Fire Fighting
Engine control panel : Automatic starting of
Engine Pump on activation of a Pressure
switch, monitoring failure conditions of the
Engine like High Engine temperature, Low
lube oil pressure and Engine Over-speed.
The terminal diagram of the Autostart is as
shown below.
There are 3 adjustable timers T1 to T3 located
at the rear side of the Autostart. These timers
are:
T1 : Start delay timer adjustable from 0 to 4
minutes. Default setting : 0 seconds
T2: Engine cranking timer adjustable from 1
to 15 seconds. Default setting : 5 seconds
T3 : Stop solenoid activation timer adjustable
from 1 to 30 seconds. Default setting is 20
seconds
Autostart can be operated in two modes of monitored whenever the Generator is running

If the Engine starts successfully then the
system will automatically go to Manual Mode.
The enginer fault conditions are now
monitored continueously and an alarm/Hooter
is activated whenever any fault occurs. The
engine does not stop for any failure conditions.
The Hooter/ Alarmcan be silenced by pressing
the hooter pushbutton and the system can be
reset by pressing the RESET key.
MANUAL MODE
Autostart can work in the manual mode by
selecting Manual mode through the MODE
pushbutton. This is indicated by the manual
LED coming on. In the Manual mode all the
operations can be done manually. Starting of
the generator, Stopping of the Generator, by
pressing the relevant pushbuttons in the
Autostart. Generator failure conditions will be
