Mental health issues increased significantly in young adults over last decade. I want to
create a Social Media Platform for people suffering with mental health problems so
they will be able to express themselves without other people’s judgements.

The reason for this project is to give support and help people suffering with mental

In October 2015 we launched a crowdfunding campaign on Pozible to fund the
development of MoodMission. We received an amazing response when 207 amazing
pledgers showed their support for our app by helping us reach our target of $20,000.

Since then we've been hard at work building and improving the app with the help of
Spark Digital, and on the 17th of August, 2016, our work paid off when MoodMission
was launched on the iOS App Store.

Soon after the iOS release we heard the calls from so many folk desperate for
MoodMission to expand to Android. In fact a post on Imgur recevied over 300,000
views, and thousands asked for an Android version.

A crowdfunding campaign was successful raising funds for developing an Android

version, which was released with great excitement in early 2017.

We have since published three papers in academic peer-reviewed journals reporting

the effectiveness of MoodMission. This includes a randomised controlled trial (RCT),
which showed that MoodMission was effective at decreasing depression and
increasing mental wellbeing.

This huge need gap and IIT-Guwahati alumnus Richa Singh's personal experience of a
friend losing her life due to placement pressure led to the birth of YourDOST, an online
platform that provides people with convenient-yet-anonymous access to experts
consisting of life coaches, psychologists and other experienced individuals.

"We all face problems, stress and anxiety at some point in our life but mostly we are
not willing to talk about these fearing social implications, being judged and for the fear
of being judged. We are confident that technology combined with empathy and right
kind of experts will go a long way in helping people going through a various emotional
and mental challenges and equipping them to better deal with it," Singh says.

Founded in December 2014 in Bengaluru by Richa Singh in partnership with IIM-

Bangalore alumnus Puneet Manjula and Prakhar Verma, a computer science graduate
from BMSCE, YourDOST today announced that it has raised $400,000 (around Rs 2.5
crore) in its first round of angel funding.

RedBus founder Phanindra Sama, TaxiForSure founder Aprameya Radhakrishna,

Capillary founder Aneesh Reddy and Nagesh Grandhi of Hyderabad Angels participated
in the investment round.

"We intend to deploy the funds majorly towards holding awareness campaigns, writing
cultural-specific content around mental and emotional well being, and to create a
strong technology platform using artificial intelligence etc," she says.
