SKILLS

Disability Support Worker


▪ Participating in a practicum within a CDBA group home has allowed me
to gain knowledge of basic care skills, become familiar with
documentation requirements, and to assist nonverbal individuals with
activities for daily living.
▪ Raising my 17-year-old son, who is on the autism spectrum with an
intellectual disability, has allowed me to gain insights into the care
required for a person living with a cognitive disability.
▪ Assisting a friend, who lives with rheumatoid arthritis, has provided
opportunities to promote independence within the community and home
settings.

Communication
▪ Collaboratively discussed methods to streamline administrative functions
during work at Concentra.
▪ Successfully gathered information to understand client needs through
effective communication, correspondence, and follow-up.
▪ Efficiently provided quality administrative support to coworkers within an
office setting.

Organization

▪ Successfully applied for government funding, tracked how funds were


spent, and coordinated with various therapists to fully utilize funding
allocated for my son annually.
▪ Confidently prioritized job tasks to ensure good workflow and
coordination within an administrative team setting.
▪ Accurately processed data entry, address changes, returned mail, RRSP
transfers, as well as, printing and distribution of daily reports within
Concentra.

Team
▪ Coordinated meetings with various therapists to discuss goals and gains
for my son and gathered necessary documents required for renewal of
annual government funding.
▪ Acquired knowledge of various deposit products, anti-money laundering
procedures, and customer service practices to better serve clients and
fellow coworkers.
▪ Ensured deadlines and projects met with client service standards and
expectations from management in my role at Concentra.
