Comet’s Galaxy

Comet is the range of CNC work centres for profiles made with aluminium, light alloys, PVC and
steel, which combine productivity and flexibility.
Comet is available in the 4 CNC axes version with X-axis stroke of 4000 mm or in 3 or 4 CNC axes
version with X-axis stroke of 7700 mm.
With the T4 model it is possible to process 1 or 2 pieces, i.e. 1 bar in 2 stages.
With the T5 and T6 models it is possible to process 1 entire bar, i.e. 2 to 4 pieces in the multi-piece
or swinging (static or dynamic) mode depending on the model.

Comet’s range operator interface with 15”


suspended monitor can be adjusted to suit your
needs. The touch-screen display and a particularly
user-friendly software mean this is a simple and
intuitive interface. The control is integrated with
a mouse, a keyboard and a USB port on the front
to connect external memories. Moreover, the CNC
can also be fitted with a bar code reader and a MG
PILOT push-button control unit to make it easier to
manage manual functions.
Power and flexibility of the electrospindle

The 3-axis model, Comet T5 is fitted with a 7.5kW electrospindle in S1.


Comet’s 4-axis modes (T4 and T6) are fitted with an 8kW electrospindle in S1
both with high torque to also carry out heavy-duty processing likes the ones
typical of the industrial sector. All versions are fitted with a twin-tank lubricating
system that allows them the use of both minimal oil diffusion and oil mist
emulsion.
In the T4 and T6 models the electrospindle which rotates continuously along
the A axis from 0° to 180° and is able to work in any position included in this
interval, with no need to change the tool.
The machining of the ends of the profile is guaranteed by the use of
high rotation speed angular units.
The Comet T5 electrospindle always works in a vertical position, although it
is always possible to work on the 5 sides of the profile thanks to the use of
angular units.

optimises to all change times to the maximum.
Indeed the magazine is located on the slider attached to
the electrospindle with 8 tools always available where they
are needed.

Mobile stop devices and independent
clamps

In Comet’s various models the profile is locked with pneumatic clamps with
automatic positioning.
For the standard versions of the slider locks onto each clamp unit and moves
it into the position set by the control. In the T5 and T6 models it is possible to
choose the HP version. This has two additional axes with numerical control that
move two independent systems which position the clamps
While the machine is running and position the piece reference stop devices on
the entire length of the machine, allowing to work in dynamic multipiece swing
mode. In the I versions, instead, each clamp unit is fitted with its own electric
motor and position itself autonomously on the work field. The positioning quotas
are always managed by the CN and this results in considerably reduced handling
times, accurate positioning and no errors due to manual intervention.

In Comet’s universe you can choose various profile machining methods.


Comet’s T5 and T6 double the system’s output thanks to the greater length and increase flexibility thanks to the various operating modes.
The single-piece mode allows to use the whole length of the machine by loading a single bar measuring up to 7.7m in length.
to carry out all the different types of machining in one work session. The Multipiece mode instead allows to work on several profiles
simultaneously, while in the Swinging mode the machine is divided in to work areas and it is possible to load and unload the pieces from
one area that while the machine works on the other area. The Dynamic Swinging mode allows to reduce machine downtime to a minimum
when pieces to process are loaded and unloaded: in the first area machining is carried out, while in the second area of the machine
positions the clamps and the stop devices and prepares to load the pieces. This function ensures great versatility and represents a great
benefit especially when working on batches with a wide range of pieces.
