Who is at risks?

⪢ People who have the highest risk of

being the biomedical waste, for instance,
healthcare workers, patients, waste
collection and disposal staff, and even
our environment.

⪢ The biomedical waste may pose an

occupational hazard when managed
incorrectly. Therefore, we need special
precautions and the well-trained
personnel to manage those biomedical
wastes and keep the risk low.

⪢ Indonesia has many serious waste management,
especially for many medical facilities.

⪢ Most of them do not have access to on-site waste

disposal, and transfer their waste to the third party.

⪢ There should be a solution to tackle these problems, how

to manage waste as effective as possible, with a lower cost
production.
The source of the problems

⪢ It is expensive and difficult tasks for

small medical facilities to disposed
their waste

⪢ The region of Indonesia is so large,

and in some rural area, the
trasportation is still hard to access

⪢ The medical waste disposal facilites

is a complex thing for medical
facilitiess
What to do?

⪢ Draft a national policy on medical waste

management for health centers.
⪢ Develop national guidelines for
appropriate waste disposal approaches,
systems, equipment, and personnel
responsibilities.
⪢ Disseminate practical guidance to
districts to raise awareness, guide local
solutions, and outline local funding
requirements.
⪢ Conduct research, analysis of recycling
options.
⪢ Give personel training to people in the
medical facilities
