A. Creating a Multimedia Presentation Using Advanced Features


Adding text and text animation
Step 1: Open a multimedia slide presentation. Type a title and subtitle in a
textbox.
Choose the appropriate slide design.

Step 2: Add animation to the text by clicking the m


tab from the Menu. Click and choose
the animation style (Entrance, Emphasis and Exit)
Step 3: Customize the animation by clicking on
Set the trigger, effects options and
timing.

Adding graphics
Step 4: Add another slide to place the graphics. Click tab from Menu.
Images or graphics that can be inserted may
be taken from your saved pictures, clip-art, a
screenshot or a photo album.
Step 5: Click on to insert a photo file. Choose the file that you want to
insert on the slide.

Step 6: Try adding a clip-art to the slide. Search and choose


from a list of graphic clip-art.
Step 7: Move the clip-art within the slide.
Step 8: Aside from pictures and clip-arts, you can also copy
a screen image of another opened file or a webpage by
clicking on the icon.

Step 9: Choose the open screen that you want to capture.


The result should look like the slide below:

Step 10: Add animation to the image by doing steps 2 and 3.

Adding hyperlink

Step 11: A hyperlink is an electronic link that allows a computer user to move
directly from a marked place in a document to another or within the document.
To add a link, use the tab found in the menu. Explore on the

different ways the hyperlink function can be done by clicking on .


Step 12: To link an image or text to another slide in the document, click on the
said image/text. Then insert hyperlink. Choose the highlighted icon. Then click
on the slide that you want to hyperlink to the image/text.

Step 13: To link an image/text to a website, highlight or click on the image/text.


Then insert hyperlink. Click on the highlighted icon below then type the URL in
the “Address page”. Note that the hyperlinked text changes its color. See the
result in the “Slideshow View.”

Embedding audio and/or video

Step 14: Embedding an audio or video file will help enhance your presentation.
To do that, simply choose from the Media tab.

Step 15. Choose a video from your computer file and it will automatically be
added to your slide. To view the video, play the “Slideshow”.

B. Using a Moviemaking Software to create a Multimedia Presentation


Step 1: Launch the moviemaking software. Familiarize yourself with the movie
creator interface.

Step 2: Click on each Menu tab to find out the features of the movie maker
software.

Step 3: Add pictures or videos to the storyboard by clicking . You must have
ready picture saved in your computer. Notice that the storyboard pane will be
populated with pictures.

Step 4: Arrange the pictures according to the sequence you want them to appear
in the video. Click and drag the pictures to their appropriate position.

Step 5: You may click “Play” in the Preview Pane every


now and then to check on the changes made.

Step 6: Add a theme to your video which will automatically


apply animation and effects to your video. Use this if you want
to get quick results. Try to click on the icons and see what
changes happen to the video.

Step 7: Add text to the video by clicking any of the icons and observe the
difference among the three. Customize the text.
Step 8: If you want to customize the effects and animation, click on .
Apply transitions and pan and zoom effect on each or all pictures.

Step 9: You can also add effects to any part of the video. Click on .
Find out how these visual effects can add mood and dramatic feel to your video.

Step 10: Add music to enhance your video. Make sure that the music you will use
matches with the pictures or theme of your video. Click . Music may be
added in any part of the video.

Step 11: Once you have added the necessary effects, save your work for future
editing. Go to File Menu then Save Project As… assign a file name to your project.

Step 12: Once you have finalized your project, you are ready to package it into a
file that can be played with different media players. Click on the icon and
select the appropriate format.

CHALLENGE:

A Non-Government Organization (NGO) just launched a program in your


school that aims to encourage young people to engage in business. The NGO is offering
financial assistance to pupils to help them expand their new start-up business. As a
requirement, Grade 6 pupils need to present their proposal and business plan to the
NGO representatives.

Show how you create your multimedia presentation using either


presentation tool and or movie editing tool.
