Welcome to the ESM-1 User Setup Guide

Please read this entire document before using your ESM-01 so that you can familiarize yourself with the
setup and operation of the device as well as complete the installation and setup of the ESM Data Viewer
software.
The ESM-1 (Endec Serial Monitor) is a stand-alone dual port RS232 serial data logger and relay device,
geared for EAS monitoring and logging. The ESM-1 is easy to install and its settings can be accessed lo-
cally or remotely using most popular web browsers.

If you receive a string of odd char-

in the alert data and it is not due
to baud rate mismatch, your EAS
receiver (or ESM-1) could be mal-
functioning. Contact your dealer
as this may be an early indication
of failure.

satisfy FCC Part 11 requirements
for a 1200 Baud Port.
