Trigger:

Need to replace a single production resource tool (PRT) in many task lists (routings).

Business Process Procedure Overview

You use this procedure to replace a production resource tool (PRT) in several or all task lists (routings) at once.
A PRT is an object that can be scheduled and can create capacity requirements. However, a PRT is not consumed during the
manufacturing process, but is essential to the process. An example of a PRT is a drill or a some kind of special tool.
Identify the PRT (material master with material type ‘FHMI’) and the plant you want changed. Engineering change management can be
used to maintain future dated changes.

Choose Settings > Replace with and the category of the new PRT. The pop-up screen is entitled “Default
Value: Change”.

1.2.2 On screen “Default Value: Change”, enter information in the fields as

specified in the table below:

Press the “Copy” button

Click on the ‘Choose overview var’ button to select the fields to be displayed. Pick one from the
selection list. Click on ‘insert in personal list’ pushes button, which will save the overview variant for
subsequent execution of this transaction.

Hit ‘Execute’.

1.3.1 The system displays the resulting list with the PRT assignments that use the old PRT. Before replacing the
PRT, you can carry out the following steps if desired:
1. Display the PRT assignments from within the overview by selecting the PRT and clicking on details.
2. Delete the PRT assignment you do not want to use anymore by selecting the PRT assignment and choosing
Edit > Delete PRT

1.3.2 If required, change the standard settings for mass replacement which by default perform all changes
immediately online. You can change it to perform asynchronously in a batch BDC session. To change
settings, choose Settings > Change replace mode. Make settings as required and choose Continue.
1.3.3 Select the PRT assignments in which you want to use the new PRT and choose Edit > Replace PRT.
1.3.4 If you have chosen ‘Online’ in the Settings, the old PRT is now replaced in the selected operations. Check
for errors that might have occurred during replacement by clicking on ‘Log’. Check and, if necessary, correct
the following data in the changed operation: standard values, general data, scheduling data.
1.3.5 If you have chosen ‘Replace with batch input session’ in you Settings, the system now creates a batch input
session. You can run this session any time you like
