Dear Professor Elangovan,

My name is Kevin To, I'm a current freshman at Penn State Abington, and currently working
towards getting a degree in Computer Science. Im writing to you to show my interest in
working with you on my independent study in the area of computers, gaming to be specific. I
hope to expand the current knowledge see attached I have on computers/gaming.

I see that you have a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems Engineering and is a current
Assistant Professor of Computer Science and IST. I did some research and also found that
you did some studying on computer vision, machine vision, multi- sensor data fusion, and
activity sequence analysis. Which would be perfect for my Independent study on what goes
into making a game like the software they use, the coding language they use, etc. With that
being said, I also have a significant interest in computers and gaming. My passion for
technology and gaming started when I was in 5th grade when I got my first computer. With
both our love and passion for technology and computers, I believe that we can come up with
amazing research for my independent study.

I am thinking we can move on with this research by the end of next semester; I understand
that you are very busy with classes and research you have on your own. But I am willing to
put as much time and effort into this research. I'm also willing to work with your schedule
whenever it is most convenient for you. I would really appreciate it if you could get back to
me if this interests you.

Best regards,
Kevin To
