Lesson (unit/page)
protect themselves teacher
I have taught grade two a science lesson, my lesson outcomes were to identify how camouflage
helps animals stay alive and explain how animals protect themselves.
I always try to make different worksheets and activities to the special need student to cater there
needs in the class, also there is a special need teacher she helps the student to finish their work in
the class.
Teachers always should to use positive reinforcement in the class to encourage the student, even
if there has done not well work, teacher can use the positive reinforcement so student can feel it’s
okay if we have mistaken and we can fix it, to me I always use the reward stamps that include a
positive and encouraging words such as ( nice work, well done ,awesome, very good, fantastic
and super) ,by stamp it at their work that they have done or their hands, this way word really
works for student and they finish the work fast and well to get this stamps and these words in
their hands.
The aim of my lesson was to explain what an animal needs to stay alive and describe what
camouflage is and how an animals’ skin covering might help keep it safe.
My student already has an idea about animals’ habitat, and how they use adaption to live also
they already know what mammal, life cycle, hatch, trait, tadpole, larva, life span, amphibian,
classify, bird and frog means.
At the end of each lesson I should to give them an idea about the next lesson topic by asking
them question or let them think or search about the topic.
According to the 21st Century Skills, I have linked some of the skills to the lesson which are
they, critical thinking: how do animal adaptations help them stay alive? Communication-think,
pair, share activity to discuss main idea, social skills: students will interact with each other in
groups and with the teacher, communication: the student will communicate inside the class and
media literacy: I will use video to explain what dose camouflage mean.
My lesson was for grade 2 students, I have done It in 21th of October 2019, my learning
objective or goal was how engage the student to learn, because science to grad two it’s hard and
it’s have a lot of writing and the students don’t like it, it’s take too long time to get the idea of the
lesson, so I was doing my best to make it attractive to them and to let them be engaged.
I have done this lesson with grade 2/C, they were doing very great in the lesson, the lesson was
very well planned and suited the ability/needs of these students.
I have considered the lesson on me it was all teacher centered with student participation, at the
beginning of the lesson I have ask a question (what is a way for an animal that lives in a forest, or
desert or any place you know to stay safe?) before I opens the video, it’s a brainstorm activity,
after that I have shown the video to the student about camouflage.
In the main activity, I explain to the student how the turtle save herself by bringing a real turtle to
the class and show the student how the turtle use camouflage to protects herself from enemies.
The lesson was broken logically into stages, and the planning was accurate in terms of timing and
content
It was a very flexible lesson student have asking a lot of questions and they really were
interesting about camouflage.
At the end of the lesson I achieve my goal which it was to pronounce the vocabs to the student,
and I reach all the outcomes of the lesson, and my lesson focused go so well the students to
recognize the new words.
To be perfect in future I should to develop some skills, my grammar mistakes when I thought the
student, it’s hard to me to fix these errors because this what I have learned since I was child, but
am doing my best to fix it.
