Developmental Justification 7:45– 7:55 Morning Meeting A morning meeting to build a classroom community and also if there are important news the teacher can share or if students have something to share. 7:55–8:10 Calendar Time This helps the students know what day it is, as well help them with counting, learn the days of the week, weather etc. 8:10–9:10 Reading Workshop This is a great time for students to work on more of their literacy activities before getting into their writing activities. 9:10– 9:30 Recess In Dr. Pearce we learned that early recess is more effective because it helps the students be more engaged. 9:30– 9:45 Social Studies I split the time for science and social studies because I think it will be fun to do a small activity over each. 9:45– 9:55 Shared Reading Students will take a break and read with a partner. 9:55– 10:15 Science I split the time for science and social studies because I think it will be fun to do a small activity over each. 10:15– Lunch This is a good time to have 10:45 lunch because they would have had breakfast when they arrive at school and a snack later in the afternoon. 10:45– Writing Workshop Students will be full so they 11:05 might be tired, so you don’t want to go into having them work individual. 11:05- Interactive Writing Student just finished an activity 11:15 as a class now they can use those skills to do their own work. 11:15– Shared Writing Students will share their writing 11:25 with their group. 11:25- Mathematics Play Students will be going to special 11:50 soon so why get into a mathematic lesson and activities. Might as well let them play with mathematic manipulatives 11:50– Interactive Read aloud Prefect time to do a read aloud 12:00 so students can calm down after doing activities and get ready for specials. 12:00- Special/Teacher Students can get a brain break 12:40 Conference and go have fun in specials. Also, can use this time as conference times. 12:40– Snack Student would be feeling kind of 12:50 hungry, so it is perfect to have a break and have a snack. 12:50- 1:00 Work Study Do a little review about phonics, phonological awareness. 1:00- 2:00 Lesson and Guided Math Students have given fuel to their tummies so they should be energized to work on their mathematics lesson and guided activities. 2:00- 2:15 Math Station Students have just finished the math lesson so they can do activities that relate to it so teacher can see their understanding. 2:15- 2:55 Play Centers Students have done all their literacy, mathematics, science and social studies so it’s good for the students to free play at centers. 2:55- 3:05 Music & Movement The students have 10 minutes after center to dance around or play along with instruments. 3:05-3:15 Afternoon Meeting This meeting is so students can share how their day went.
